No sir it does not. Important game for Byrnes. And maybe very important for Shaw unless he runs the table in Region 2. Think the Byrnes faithful are beyond tired in not being amongst the state’s elite programs and losing to Chapman is no way to get back to that place. A loss to Greenville and things may spin out of control.

Its been the same story for 7 years, elite or very good defenses with little to no offense to support them.Cover Three wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2023 8:22 pmImportant game for Byrnes. What are your thoughts on the play calling? I have seen last season and in the Chapman game last week run the ball on first down for 5 yards. Next play try a pass of 10+ yards!?!? Why wouldn’t you make it 3rd and one every once in a whileByrnesRebels05 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 9:44 amIts been the same story for 7 years, elite or very good defenses with little to no offense to support them.Cover Three wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2023 8:22 pmImportant game for Byrnes. How much time you got? First problem is that we are loaded with play makers and honestly, 21 is the only one that has constantly got touches. We have to use 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,8 at some point. Not saying every single one every single game but 3-4 of those dudes need 6-8 touches a game. The play calling has zero flow to it. Sometime we are too stubborn and try to run the same play 3 straight times, other times we do as you say, hit a decent play then try to hit the big when the time is not right. I'm not sold on the OC play calling, not sure its him or a philosophy issue within the team. To me we always seem to play not to lose in most games and in games where being more conservative might be the answer (Chapman last week) we trying to press too much and turn it over.Darth Rebel wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 10:49 amWhat are your thoughts on the play calling? Unless because of his age and trying to protect him a bit maybe?

Re: Byrnes vs Greenville
I agree with this assessment. Instead of coming out last week and running the entire offense, the entire first half, we seemed to be trying to do JUST ENOUGH to win by one point. Why not go full speed ahead and once it becomes time to take the foot off the gas, THEN make the decision. We should have been up a minimum of 28 to zero in the second quarter but we didn't play with the fire and effort from week zero.ByrnesRebels05 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 11:41 amHow much time you got? I know that game means nothing when it comes to Region Play and Playoff Implications and if we lose all of them except the four Region Games we will be at home in the playoffs and depending on the pre-determined HOME TEAMS when that bracket comes out, we could be home until the State Championship Game the way things are now.... no points, no seeding, pure LUCK determines home team if two Region Champs play. But doesn't it look like they don't want to show their hand, in week one?

I would think we are holding stuff back, but we’ve read this book before in the recent year. Until they prove me wrong, I think we are trying to just get back rather than beating teams like we should beat them.
Re: Byrnes vs Greenville
Depends on which Greenville team shows up. They have a talented roster. A few D1 guys.
