South Florence defense has allowed one TD in three games, scored 3

Goose Creek burned us on a long pass play in week 0, that was the only TD our defense has given up this year. Our defense has scored in every game we've played; a pick-6 in weeks 0 and 1, a scoop-and-score in week 2.

(Goose Creek also scored late in the 4th quarter on a kick-off return, Oceanside also scored on a pick-6.)

“We’ve got to be diverse,” SFHS coach Drew Marlowe said. “.....So I think we had four different quarterbacks take a snap tonight…three tailbacks and a bunch of people caught a pass tonight."

Jayden Sellers. The junior wide receiver had a pair of touchdowns – but both came via the ground instead of the air.

[The Defense] “They are without question the strength of our team, and we’re going to lean on them this year,” Marlowe said. “They’ve been playing really well and we hope that they’ll continue to play at a high level.”

Going up against that unit in practice every week has helped the Bruin offense make strides, Sellers added.

“Coach always says that that’s the best defense we’re going to play against this season,” he said. “So we just work hard in practice each week and try to get better each time.”

That’s awesome!! CF probably can’t either but that’s a tough Bruin defense. I doubt that first string gives up to many td’s this year.
