The best 1-3 team in the State!!

Post by Mbfootballfan »

Has got to be Carolina Forest. They lost another close one last night after leading late in the game. The most under rated 5A team in the State hands down. Only a touchdown away from being 4-0

The GOOD NEWS is that none of these games matter any more. Win the REGION games and it is home field for the Playoffs for at a minimum of two games.

Considering two of those games are against two of the top ranked teams in the state, Summerville (6 point loss) and South Florence (8 point loss) and the one point loss to the "other school" they should be getting stronger each week. Stratford, N. Myrtle Beach and Conway as the next three games and then the big showdown with Sumter (at home??) which could be another huge game AGAIN.

I was there last night. What a game! CF missed a field goal to go up by 10 midway in the third quarter. CF looks exactly like your typical CF team at their smashmouthing best. They just always lack athletic receivers and defensive backs. I have seen them enough of years now to say they always have a stong front seven, offensive line, shifty running backs and qbs. They are dangerous, but as typical for them they need to close out games against good teams. I chalk this up to the coaching staff hitting their ceiling and being complacent. However, they are better year in and year out than I would expect them to be living in the Carolina Forest area myself and knowing all about the dynamics and demographics here.

The bigger story is SF. They looked lifeless for the first 3 quarters last night. At least they can turn it on when they need to and the going for 2 gimmick worked to deflate the CF mojo last night. I have to give Marlowe credit for that. Good thing 4A doesn't have quite the smashmouth teams as powerful as CF both sides of the ball.

SF 7 0 0 23 - 30
CF 7 7 0 8 - 23

I agree, Carolina Forest is very good. They showed up, loaded for Bruin, and in the first half found their mark. The week 8 game against Sumter should decide who wins the region.

I agree with you Mbfootballfan! Carolina Forest has a really good team this year. I have always liked them after My Beaufort played against them a few times. I have seen their highlights and they have played hard every game.

This is probably the weakest 5A region in the state I’m guessing. So unless they implode on themselves both CF and Sumter will play for the region Title.

This was a trap game for SF. Maybe it’s possible they were looking ahead to next weeks show down with SP. ? The bruins are very good regardless.
I’m not looking forward to seeing them dismantle MB.

Yes indeed BEAUFORTEAGLESFAN!! This 5A division is something else. By the end of the year CF is going to be a dangerous threat in the playoffs. My favorite is still going to be Summerville. Sumter has no idea what’s getting ready to hit them next week.

Fairly sure they know .I mean they are ranked #1
.Sumter has some speedy guys on D .Summerville line has let some guys through at times . D gives up some running yards.
Secondary for Sumter will be they key .
And if they can score with them. Which I'm led to believe they can.

Spartanburg damn near beating grayson has opened some eyes .whom ever makes it will have thier work cut out for them. Quite a few good teams upstate .
Really the Sumter and fort D games are the only two games that they have left that have any competition.
Someone from lower state will have to show me a lot more to prove they have a realistic chance at state.

Forts lines and secondary will have to improve
To win out. They have horses to score.

Doodles has the ville a 20 point favorite massey has them as a 8 point under dog.
