Re: DAMN, NOT A SINGLE INJUIN RESPONDED TO ME AT THE FORT
I haven't seen Bojack in awhile. I've been meaning to stop by each time I go to my parents but haven't yet.
I still see Whoa at the games sometimes.
As for O, last time I talked to him, was several years ago. He was on one of his profanity laced tirades about the coaching. He had me laughing so hard.
I remember those tailgates across from the old high school well and meeting many great fans from our rivals. To make us all feel old, that little wild son of mine is now a 30yo dad of an 8yo & 2yo.
Since I had my heart attack, and with my wife's health not that great, I'm afraid to make the trips that are too far away.
During the last couple of years of the Montgomery Era, I swore every time on the drive to the away games that that week would be my last away game. When the next away game came along there I was heading to it and repeating the same thing. Many times pulling up to the stadiums several hours before kickoff. I wish the newer generation was as rabid as we were at their age but times are definitely different. They just don't travel like we did until playoff time.

About 12 years ago I attended my first Shrine Bowl, the upstate PFT guys organized a pre-game tailgate. Gaffney had won the 4A championship that year, and a lot of their fans were in attendance. I recall some hippie from Dorman shared his camp-stove cooked food with me, and the guys from Gaffney shared their deer jerky and moonshine. Good times.CITYSLICKER wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 4:58 pmBEEN UP THERE MANY TIMES AND ALWAYS HAD TO BUY THEM A MEAL TOO, THEY NEED TO BRING THEIR ASS DOWN HERE

Stop ya whining old man. Still around with 2 grandboys that are 6 months old and 5 years old. They wear Paw Paw down. Took the 5 year old to Athens last Saturday for the game. Not recommended. Son in law played so he is ready to take the 6 month old to his first game. Not gonna work out at all like he is expecting

Well, I didn't need any help feeling old, but thanks any way!Bleedinblackngold wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 9:21 pmI remember those tailgates across from the old high school well and meeting many great fans from our rivals. That old station that was doing car stereo installations had quite a few memories for me as well. I would show up in my Byrnes gear and all those old guys we mentioned (especially remember CHIEF O and his overalls) would be there and we'd share a few crazy stories and talk football for a while and then head inside and watch what usually would be a great game.
