Spartanburg at Byrnes

Post by Noble Savage »

Region play is here. I would assume Nixon will be rocking. I'm still not exactly sure just how good my boys are, Mauldin & Riverside came at a great time.
Byrnes is always tough to beat, especially at Nixon Field. This region is always so tight, these first region games are so important.
Of course I'll take my Vikings by a TD.
Best of Luck to both, everyone be safe on & off the field, take a kid to a ball game.

It depends on the team that shows up...

IF the "team" or should I say GROUP OF GUYS that travelled to Inman shows up, Vikings roll easily.

IF the team that played Greenville and West Florence shows up, we will have a fun time Friday night. I think there will be no chance that first group shows up, so I'm saying the game will be won because someone made a huge play, maybe an interception or a huge sack or one of those RB's breaks a huge run.

As for Nixon Field rocking, all I have to say is that it better be!!! It hasn't been quite as loud recently but as big as this game is for the season and all the playoff implications; I'm hoping it is packed and loud like 2005.

Like you, I want to go with my team [that is why they are our team] in a close game that sets the tone for Region II.

I will go with Spartanburg in this one. Byrnes is always a tough out, and being at home will give them a little extra motivation; however, Spartanburg's defense seems to be elite. I don't think Spartanburg will score much because I'm not sold on their offense. I look for this game to be close. I'll say Vikings by 3.

I think we're gonna have a 13-10 type of ball game, Spartanburg has the toughest defense Byrnes has seen yet ( yes including Hough )

I think the Rebels will win this one, but its gonna be one for the ages!

Witch ever way it goes it’s going to be a good one no doubt. We know Bynes can put up points and Spartanburg can too if they can get it together. This game can go either way..

This should be an excellent ball game come Friday night. Both teams are playing good ball heading into week 6. I believe the difference in this game will come down to the play of #4 Calvin Choice. Since rejoining the team after missing the first 2 games the Vikings offense has looked impressive. I also believe it will be a low scoring game. I'll take the Vikings by 7.

Game of the year so far. It’s going to be an absolute slug fest and everything will be hard earned. Turnovers and penalties(who makes the least) will decide this one

Go Rebels!

Would love a 0-0 tie. Picking one to root for here is like deciding whether you want the Flu or COVID. As much as it grieves me, in honor of my "dear, dear buddy Colby". Go Rebels....ugh.

I agree, gonna be a heck of a game. Rebs need to just protect the ball and play with confidence. The old gal on East Main will be alive tonight!!!
