Re: GAFFNEY AT SPARTANBURG
Give me #BIGGAFFNEY by 90 lol jk I expect this to be a slobberknocker and all out slugfest Friday night. If Gaffney can get the ball rolling and feed McDowell early and often then it’s going to be a great night for the tribe. I think the keys for Gaffney this week are to establish the run game early get McDowell going early and make the Vikings stop him once they start stacking the box you can torch them down the field with littlejohn and smith oh yea and don’t forget the medley kid in the slot either cause if you do then it’s going to be rough. Another key is for the defense to do its job and make the tackles and to keep them in front of you at all cost. Defensive line has to get pressure and be in the backfield all night long.

Serious question and I’m asking just to ask but if he’s not that bad and he’s that tall why is he the back up. Is he an underclass man or did the starting qb have a blow em away spring and summer camp to win the job im not bashing or anything just really curious as to why he’s the back up and not the starterviking84 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 02, 2023 11:07 amAlso the back up qb is like 6”2 or 4 I think and he can definitely see over the field and has a great arm.,viking84 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 02, 2023 11:01 amDefinitely agreed I think he would make a heck of a running back the back up qb ain’t that bad . I’d say yea switch it up and see what happens..Rebel-Fan-74 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 02, 2023 8:18 amGreat post, top to bottom! Too many inconsistent offensive plays, no true RB. QB still has a VERY hard time seeing the field. I'm not saying Byrnes wasn't better last Fri, but you gotta score more than one TD to win this region.
You can only shoot yourself in the foot so many times before you lose a leg.
Hope everyone has good week, stay safe, travel safe and stop by Harolds and grab everyone a sack of chili burgers.
Take a kid to a ball game. Be Somebody.
Granted, I only have one game to make this judgement; however, if you had a QB and move the current QB to RB, you would have your true RB. He's got more moves than a case of Exlax and is super quick to make the cuts. I'm not saying he is not a QB, but I agree with your assessment that he has a VERY hard time seeing the field.
But I think Friday night we had two of the best defensive units in the state on that field in Duncan!

To answer your question TJ was good qb last year but they went with Raheem as the starter .Does that answer your question..racincowboy02 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 02, 2023 11:14 amSerious question and I’m asking just to ask but if he’s not that bad and he’s that tall why is he the back up. I have seen the backup play and he’s pretty good in the pocket but TJ is faster and more of a runner than a thrower.racincowboy02 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 02, 2023 11:14 amSerious question and I’m asking just to ask but if he’s not that bad and he’s that tall why is he the back up. Re: GAFFNEY AT SPARTANBURG
I don't think the height would make us better at this point. TJ gives us the best chance to win.. and those freshmen RBs will come around..it's just man when his vision window comes open he's got to to throw. That 1 second delay is everything I just hope he doesn't lose confidence because he's somewhat struggling.
It's all good defenses from here on out, Boiling Springs seems to be legit.
I still vote for a few sprint out passes, not roll outs.
If Spartanburg can avg a TD a quarter? A field goal here n there.. 28 to 31 a game, i think they can do some damage.
Spartanburg having to play from behind is bad news. Young kids panic. Gonna have to stop leaving points on the field.
If there's a season changing speech or game to be given or won.. it is this week.

I don’t know anything about Spartanburg and was asking a legit question you come and give an answer like that man I was just curious if it was a technique or an intangible that he was maybe not as sharp onviking84 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 02, 2023 11:49 amTo answer your question TJ was good qb last year but they went with Raheem as the starter .Does that answer your question..racincowboy02 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 02, 2023 11:14 amSerious question and I’m asking just to ask but if he’s not that bad and he’s that tall why is he the back up. To be honest Cowboy I guess the coaches make the decisions but it wouldn’t be bad to change up some to see what happens. At one time Gaffney had a running back and made him the quarterback (I think it was shaq)and you see what a game changer that made. kid was explosive..racincowboy02 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2023 10:10 amI don’t know anything about Spartanburg and was asking a legit question you come and give an answer like that man I was just curious if it was a technique or an intangible that he was maybe not as sharp onviking84 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 02, 2023 11:49 amTo answer your question TJ was good qb last year but they went with Raheem as the starter .Does that answer your question..racincowboy02 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 02, 2023 11:14 amSerious question and I’m asking just to ask but if he’s not that bad and he’s that tall why is he the back up. Re: GAFFNEY AT SPARTANBURG
I have Gaffney winning this game. I believe the score will be somewhere in the 21-10 range. Gaffney is coming off a bye week and is healthy. Spartanburg has a VERY good defense, but their offense is not good. I think it is close and Gaffney scores late to get the double digit win.
