Daniel vs Blue Ridge

Post by stretch »

With the Lions winning their region they are the #1 overall seed in the upperstate playoffs and they will have Blue Ridge come to town for round 1.

The last time we played Blue Ridge was in the second round of the 2012 playoffs only because the team they lost to the week before had to forfeit so they had to play us on 1 day of practice. This time around I don’t think the result will be any different, even with the extra practice.

Blue Ridge is 1-9, their only win was against a region team in Carolina. They are in a 5 team region so their lone victory earned them an extra week of football. We have a common opponent in Greer who they lost to 51-0 and we beat 48-20. They seem to struggle with keeping teams out of the end zone. In 7 of their 10 games they’ve given up 40 or more points, including giving up 74 to Landrum.

I’m very confident that we will win this game. Obviously nothing is guaranteed, but some crazy, wacky, unforeseen shenanigans would have to go down to lose this game.

They aren’t the only ones who should consider doing that. In 3A upperstate there’s 1 game where I could see the lower seeded team possibly winning.

49-2 win for the Lions. Offense could not get going in the first quarter where we had 2 field goals and a safety to be up 8-0. After a QB change we got rolling like normal, it was nice to see how quickly we can flush the bad and get refocused to playing our good brand of football. Defense played great and they deserve a ton of credit for their performance tonight. Tonight was not the best, but if you're going to have your worst game of the year, it's best it comes in the first round.
