I remember that was a coaches kid was around the time of the Stratford fight give or take a few years.
The qb from the year the ville lost to gaffney 33 32 at state .actually lived in shadow moss.
They toilet papered my cousins house .so we went to Sam's and bought 5000 plastic forks and stuck them all in thier front yard. Long damn night.
Have fun picking those out.
He did 3 hs in 3 years .
.I don't have a problem with players playing where they want as long as you drive yourself or provide your own transportation.
Remember harper the qb from goose creek.big John tried to get him to the ville.but they got that kid from fla. Instead . I actually was privy to the harper thing.
Not my story to tell.
It happens at a few schools not a big deal to me.
If my kid was zoned for stall do you think he would actually be attending there.i think not.
To be quite straightforward if it wasn't for the fort coaches being good he may not have been at fort.
We had a few options. Smaller or different schools
One would have been a hike or renting
You have to go where you'll be happy and get a fair shot or believe you will. Life is short your highschool
Football career even shorter.
Make the most of it.

Slick you are trying to find one article in a 50 year span while Curtis gets to hand pick his players every single year. Apples and oranges. Now go back to sleep….

When I was in High School in the early 70s, we always were told that the Summerville Sertoma Club had Bake sales, Yard Sales, etc, so that they could help the Football players support their wives and children.

As for proof: A.J. Green. Born in July 1988. Graduated from High School in 2008. Even using old school math, that made him 19 years old. He would have been 5 when he started 1st grade. Add 12, he would have been 17 as a Senior, 18 when he should have graduated in 2007. Hmmmm. I wonder what happened? His grades were good enough to get into a major college. The prostitution rests!

It is pretty darned easy to win High School Football games while playing college kids on your team. I do nut begrudge any of coach M's accomplishments, I just think that there should be an asterik attached to it, like Roger Maris' Home Run record. Maris played more games in that year than Ruth did when he hit 60.

AJ would have been 19 at graduation. You need to start using that Common Core Math Penguin...geez.

Mine graduated at 19 Dec birthday .02 class of 22.
Held back one year due to speech therapy due to damn near being Def corrected by surgery.
Daughter graduated at 17. August birthday.
I'm not sure of the cutoff time for school.
Really don't think it's uncommon for some student athletes to be older. Nominal age 18.

The Wave was successful in the late 70s and till The opening of Fort because of the talent pool
It had to draw from.. Over 400 kids would come out for the varsity every year and by the Sertoma classic
Big John would narrow it down to approximately 120 kids knowing he was only going to dress 80 to 85
Per game ...The Wave practices Mon Through Wednesday were more competitive than most of the Friday
Night games Because there was always 50 to 60 kids trying to make the Dress roster for Friday's game...
The same holds true today the 3 schools that used to make up Summerville High are all currently ranked in the top 10 in 5AAAAA. And it's because the kids in the Dorchester district 2 school area start playing at a young age and have 5-6 years of experience before they get into high school...
