Camden VS Dillon

Post by PeeDeeFootballFan »

This should be a game of the week for sure. Should be one of the most competitive and exciting second round games in the state. A lot of hype for Dillon and a lot of people saying Camden is down because of 3 loses but Camden played a much tougher schedule and may be better prepared for playoff football. I see this as the team whose QB is more efficient and takes care of the ball wins. Also defense is going to be huge in this game. Both teams have the talent and ability to play top level defense but that hasn’t always translated into the field against decent teams on their schedule. Should be a good one this week. Winner likely gets Crestwood to go to state.

I’m not sure Dillon can throw the ball efficiently or if they will risk some turnovers if they try to put it down field. I think Camden has shown they will try to throw it down field and they have turned it over doing that this year. Neither QB is very accurate and there is a lot of risk twitch throwing. Whichever team protects the ball will likely win. Both QBs can run the ball in. Wry different ways. Dillons run game is much better but Camdens defense is much better. In my opinion coaching during the week is going to decide this game. Both have played in the playoffs the last 2 years and know each other pretty well. What will be interesting is who comes out with a better game plan and uses some things not on film yet. Similar athletically so coaching is going to be huge and I think it boils down to who makes fewer mistakes and maybe momentum becomes huge. Home field advantage with Dillon for sure. If one side comes out and plays great defense that could also be the difference. They both dominate on defense against teams that are basically JV teams like Marlboro, Georgetown, Waccamaw, Lake City, but struggle against anyone with athletes like Hartsville (common opponent). That’s why I give the edge this year in the lower state to Crestwood who can score with both and plays decent defense. Should be an exciting one but I give the edge to Camden now because they can run decent and throw decent while Dillon is primarily run based and Camdens defensive backfield is good so not the game you want to start trying to throw when you haven’t really put the ball downfield all year. Gonna be a good one and see how weather impacts it as well. Defense and the run game matter in the playoffs when it gets cold. That could be advantage Dillon but that run game is very predictable and one dimensional and expect Camden to shut down Dillon’s star RB and make Dillon’s QB beat them. Should be interesting and then winner gets Gilbert probably who’s coaches will make their schemes completely unpredictable that week prior to getting Crestwood and the best QB in the lower state by a ton.

Oh you’re the guy that had something to say when I said Hartsville wasn’t as good as everyone thought prior to playing Irmo. How did that take turn out for you versus my take?

Saw this one coming. Shut down the Dillon run game and they don’t have a QB. First one off the field after the game. Not sure if he was going to sign his deal with Tennessee or trying to beat the traffic back to NC where he lives. Camden was on tonight but some poor coaching decisions that kept this one closer than it was.
Crestwood is going to the state championship out of the lower state vs BHP or Daniel.

Bringthewood, got anything else to say? I had Hartsville as over rated and Irmo, James Island and S Florence as the teams in the lower state. I had Dillon as overrated and not having a QB. Seems about right today, huh?

I wish he'd go back to NC and stay. It's so tough watching this team's talent being wasted because he can't throw a simple pass of any kind!

Well he did throw a TD tonight. It just happened to be to a defensive lineman for Camden. Grayson White should see the offers come rolling in because he apparently runs a sub 4.5 fourty at 250lbs since the Dillon dual threat QB who claims to run a 4.5 couldn’t catch up to him to even attempt to make a tackle. QB may have been tired though from all those college visits though. Hype from JV film at a SCISA school only gets ya so far. If that’s a P5 QB, Javion Martin of Crestwood should just skip college and go to the NFL. Oh wait he doesn’t even have. G5 or P5 offer. Obviously joking about the NFL, but confusing what is happening in recruiting. Best thing to happen to USC fans would be Dillon QB going to Tennessee.
