Thank you ,but a little more information than this tiny brain can decipher…there was a list by school here one time that had it posted from Dorman/Wando largest to the smallest with the cut off at each classification…
I found what I was looking for 84 using the search bar and you are the one that posted it..

The raw Dept. of Education numbers don't tell the whole story, students at many charter and magnet schools have to be allocated back to the school they can play sports for.

Example - Lexington 05
Dutch Fork - 1705
Chapin - 1630
Irmo - 1268
Spring Hill - 1102

The students at Spring Hill are allocated back to the HS they are zoned for to come up with the final HSL number. In the last relaignment cycle the HSL never published the list with the final numbers, just the proposed classifications and regions.

To me the issue with the multiplier is that it hurts school choice traditional public school districts as well. Daniel is in Pickens County which is school choice, I would imagine there are a couple hundred students at DWD who are school choice to Daniel because it's much more prestigious academically (by far) than the rest of the schools in the district. It has nothing to do with athletics. So now DWD gets hurt on classification because they're strong academically and offer a bunch of AP courses? And not to mention when they accepted these school-choice kids, they didn't know that they would eventually be counted as 3x a student for athletic purposes. You'd think different decisions would've been made.

Greenville County would be in the same boat likely.

I think they didn't post the final numbers so no one would find out how they manipulated their guidelines. They had 7 or 8 teams with 4A numbers playing in 5A, and teams with 5A numbers playing in 4A.

Yes sir you are correct again. (Bet you hear that a lot at home, right? )
But you get a general idea of how things shape up. The teams on the bubble may vary once the final numbers are put in. What's going to be tricky is the out of zone numbers. Some public schools have those as well as the charters.

I think they didn't post the final numbers so no one would find out how they manipulated their guidelines. They had 7 or 8 teams with 4A numbers playing in 5A, and teams with 5A numbers playing in 4A.
The reason some with 4A numbers were playing 5A and vice versa is because it’s always been allowed that if 2 schools agree to switch their enrollment number then it can happen. Dutch fork I believe had 4A numbers last time but are playing 5A (as they should). Could you imagine them playing 4A? But it will be interesting to see these numbers adjusted after they send them back in for the multiplier. Also you have to take 12 grade numbers off those top number they’re included in sc Ed. But SCHSL takes those off.

Dutch Fork has solid 5A numbers when the Spring Hill numbers are factored into the total.
