Well, it's "WEEK MINUS ONE". Thoughts and the first BRACKET

Can you believe it!!!! Next Friday, we finally make it to WEEK ZERO!

This time next Friday, some of us will actually be counting down the hours until a REAL kick off! We've almost made it, folks!

Scrimmages help, but let's face it, there is nothing like the actual feeling of Friday Night Football, especially here in the south! The players and coaches have got to be ready to hit the fields, too. All the prep work, 7 on 7, practice { practice, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! } has led up to game time!

So with us ready, them ready, that leaves only a couple of things to really signify that football is officially here...and here is one of those things that is still missing: THE WAY, WAY TOO EARLY PLAYOFF PROJECTIONS:

I was hopeful of getting the "official" sheet telling me what the out of state schools are going to count for in the points system, but I haven't seen it yet so I'm just guessing based on the info that I have {but let's be real, this is all a guess at this point any way}, so here goes nothing:

I'm looking brother. Since RNE is no longer 4a, I guess i'll have to find a bandwagon so I can argue with ya'll. Didn't Westwood move up to 4a? If so, i'll take them.

I would be very pleased with a #2 seed. If the seeds were to hold having Byrnes play at Summerville would be epic. I hate to even look that far ahead because I know in the blink of an eye the season will be over. This is absolutely my favorite time of the year. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning waiting to open that first present which in this case is Summerville playing at Providence. Simply love it....

Not sure about Woodmont making the playoffs.
They are much improved but i'm not sure they make the playoffs.
Are you giving extra credit because they have two Byrnes alums (Head Coach and AD) running the show over there now?

Greenville's recent history in 3A makes me believe they could compete for a playoff spot in Region One.
Although, I don't have a clue what they have coming back from last year's team.

Well on second thought........base on what I saw from Ashley Ridge in a scrimmage I'm not sure they will be a playoff team this year. Just my opinion, and it was just a scrimmage, plus a lot can change between now and week 11.
What effect would that make on your bracket?....with AR out that would bump a DII team up to DI.

Goose Creek is an interesting pick as the #1 seed in Div-II. They might run the table in their region but their non-region schedule could yield 2 or 3 losses.

#1. Amen, a LOT can and I hope will happen, I'm ready!!!

#2. Seeing as Region 8 will get 3 automatic bids, I feel that Summerville is the odds on favorite for the Region Champ. After that, I think it is wide open for the other four teams. I'm hearing that Colleton County is much improved, Fort Dorchester should have a great season { mainly because I didn't pick them to beat Summerville this year.. } I've been like the Madden curse for Fort D. Every time I pick them to get over the hump and win the Region, they lose two games that no one sees them losing. Bluffton, who knows? They did a good job over the past two seasons moving up to AAAA, and Ashley Ridge is sort of my surprise team this year.

If AR doesn't make the playoffs, that would mean Colleton County or Bluffton make it, so the answer would be yes! Someone currently listed in D2 would be in D1.

KEEP IN MIND, TWO BIG ASSUMPTIONS HERE: I'm not confident that I have the same 135 day Adm numbers that the SCHSL is using nor do I have the official placement for many of the out of state teams. Those two things along could mean drastic changes in teh brackets even if I did predict the teams' records for all 52 teams perfectly! Someone could be in the wrong location due to not getting the right amount of points, or I had them in the wrong place in the rankings of the school size.
