Re: MVP reels in another one
This is a difficult one for me....
If my grandchild was offered an opportunity to attend a school that could better prepare them for college and life, and oh by the way, had a good football program, I would want them to attend that school. I'm not saying Chapman and Woodruff are not good schools; but they are smaller public schools while the MVP school will have SUPPOSEDLY a program that is geared toward getting kids ready for top colleges. Public schools have a lot of kids who are there only because they have to be and have no desire to do more than the minimum, if that.

The kid we lost had never played a varsity snap at Woodruff. He transferred in last year and had to play sub varsity as a sophomore.Rebel-Fan-74 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2024 5:41 pmThis is a difficult one for me....

And MVP is awful. They do not prepare anyone for college. Those charter schools are nothing but false promises and snake oil. They use kids as a means to an end.
And on the eighth day, God created the Woodruff Wolverines

I’m not sure about the other ones, but I do know that for End-of-Course exams, Gray Collegiate had more kids get a D or F on those tests.Wolverine_Legend wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2024 9:28 pmThe kid we lost had never played a varsity snap at Woodruff. I wasn't speaking to MVP in particular as I've not researched any of these new schools, I was just referring to the general idea of Private Schools and Public Schools. I'm all for putting them in their own Region, Classification for athletics. As for the "RECRUITING" I think that it is way too late to close the barn door as the horses have already escaped and they are running down the street.Wolverine_Legend wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2024 9:28 pmThe kid we lost had never played a varsity snap at Woodruff. i'm with you 74 on opportunities (especially education or sports development). i take it a step further and say if you send your child to a private school, you shouldn't pay public school taxes. that's another topic! lolRebel-Fan-74 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 4:52 pmI wasn't speaking to MVP in particular as I've not researched any of these new schools, I was just referring to the general idea of Private Schools and Public Schools. my only issue with private schools and charter schools is they should not be competing in leagues with public schools who must abide by a different set of rules.
