Some things fall into the category of "LIFE'S NOT FAIR!" and some things fall into the category of "WE SHOULD ALL PLAY BY THE SAME RULES!" 5A schools having so many students to draw from, vs a 1A or 2A school is the Life's Not Fair while MVP, Oceanside, Gray, etc is the latter.

While we all are 100% certain that recruiting happens almost everywhere and in all sports, the facts are that the private/charter schools can do it openly and have an easier time since the student may not even have to move to a new address. We've had multiple posts and threads discussing this topic and it seems that an overwhelming majority of folks would like to see them in their own Regions & Classifications.

The SCHSL has made some changes for this realignment; no one really thinks these changes are a "FIX" but more of a Bandaid at best. I guess we will see how these changes go and then see if the SCHSL takes the next two years to work on a more equitable solution or if they continue to turn a blind eye to the issue and ignore it.

And as many have pointed out, it is not just football that is showing the lopsided advantage. Look at the AA champions (where most of those schools are placed) for the past few years and you will see evidence that would be called in a courtroom, "beyond a reasonable doubt!"

It just isn’t the private schools, or Charters. Check out JL Mann. It is just overt recruiting. They haven’t built a program they just recruited the better players in Greenville County.

I don't see how a private school better prepares you for life? College??
On "paper" it may by offering fancy named curriculum course titles but life?? College?? In the times we live in? What a joke?

Public schools teach you about life. The ups and downs, the good students, the bad students. The good and bad teachers. The good and bad people. The whole social construct of life is walking the hallways of public schools. It's not wearing khakis and a collard shirt "uniform" .

By the way education is basically free nowadays. If you have access to the Internet or a public library you can learn everything you could possibly want or need to learn. It's a matter of how much you want it.

I grew up on a dying mill hill . I read encyclopedias, I went to the library. I listened to teachers who were good at their job and suffered through those who were terrible. I went to parties, I got in trouble. I was punished. Lesson learned.

It's a pretty simple formula.
If you are having a tough time in high school??? Because of lack of self effort.
Life is gonna kick you in the nuts.

Of course there are kids who need help with learning disabilities. Kids who have a terrible home life, but I can guarantee you this a private or charter whatever isn't gonna stop what that kid runs into 10 years from now when they have a job with their name on their shirt. If they are even able to get a job.

Here's an idea ..
Teach a kid how to be a parent, a mother, a father. How to read and write. Teach a kid how to cook. How to grow food. How to start a lawnmower. Change a tire. Put in ATM , make parents load money or use a grant or even invisible money and teach the kids how to manage money pay bills, car payments,insurance,..

So sure a kid may get a so called better education to prep him for life and college.
College that will leave them financially crippled for the majority of the lives and they still will not know how to shake a man's hand.

Two M80s' and punk sticks
My uncle's favorite Farrah Fawcett lighter
