Lions get the win 52-36 tonight over Stratford. Not a very good night by our defense, definitely need to clean it up on that side or next week it will be ugly. Offense did their part our new QB Clary has been as advertised since middle school. Hopefully the defense can tighten up because it doesn’t get any easier next Friday against the all stars.

Totally agree. Slow start, boys pushed through. One of those nights we score 50 and it feels like 3 points. Defense giving up over 500 total yards is not a good sign going into JL Mann.

So many things in this game that stood out. Most of all Daniel won the special teams big time over Stratford.
Field position on kickoffs was huge. The extra point they missed proved big as they had to start chasing points.
The huge kickoff turn when they got back to within one was a back breaker play for them.

Dede was ugly in the first 21/2 quarters but figured it out late and made plays.
Still too many penalties
Cost is a potential scoring drive late in the second and had a big Td called back. Still too many dropped balls .
First possession should’ve been an easy score. Had to settle for 3.

One last point . Stratford was deep and big . I counted 65 players. They played hard and gave great effort .
That being said I would be pissed if I was a fan of theirs and what their coach did with 4 minutes and change left.
Down 9 on 4th and 10 he decided to punt. We hit a big run play for 7. On the next possession with 2 and change left he punted again on 4th down. That’s called quitting. At that’s point you only had one chance and he told his kids ti basically stop competing. Sends a bad message IMO.

You’re right, those punts calls were outrageous. Clearly wasn’t playing to win by that point in a game they controlled most of the way

Put a positive spin on it... Stratford was within two scores of Summerville...good sign. True Mann curb-stomped Midland Valley...but so did Blythewood last night....MV is not the same team this season, obviously. I suspect Mann will be better than Stratford, but maybe not to the level you think. Regardless of the outcome, you have Clinton after that....lost to Woodruff, so they must be awful (ain't that right, Legend?)...lol. Rest if of the way is Seneca (yawn), Berea (yawn), TR (yawn)...sorry, this schedule is making me sleepy... Pickens (yawn), BR (yawn), Greer (surprisingly, yawn).... So, what I am saying is...don't sweat it D. Wistar...

...HOWEVER....having to come from behind in the 4th quarter against a team that seemed to quit...DF beat Stratford by 47 last year and 43 the year before that when DF were plagued with injuries to key starters and Stratford is gawdawful!!...lol....kidding....D. Wistar will be fine.

In October...rest your starters some....give the backups some reps...DWD will have faced Chapman, Stratford, Mann and Clinton early on, so they have seen some good competition that will help come play off time. Now, I suspect teams like Westside and South Pointe will be waiting there...different animals than your standard region play.

Heck, you could pretty much wrap up your regular season @ Berea on 10/4. Work out a deal to play them, TR, BR & Pickens...1 qtr each and promise not to score over 40 per qtr. with a running clock! Done. Then demolish Greer in a tune up for the playoffs
