As for the game...Beaufort almost completely dominated everything about this game except for the final outcome. I haven't seen the final statistics on Beaufort's side but did see Fort Dorchester's Statistics. I would guess that Beaufort had over 400 yards of total Offense to Fort Dorchester's 180. The main reason why Beaufort lost this game is the 2 costly interceptions and the phantom pass interference call on Beaufort when Fort D had 4th down. Beaufort's Defender wasn't even close to the Patriots Receiver and they called pass interference. That was one of the worst calls that I have ever seen in my life!!!! It should have been Beaufort's Ball with about a minute remaining in the game with the score tied 21 all. Fort Dorchester scored the winning TD with about 20 seconds left in the game.
Even though the outcome didn't go Beaufort's way, it was still a fun game to watch. You couldn't have asked for a more exciting game to open up the 2024 Football Season. Good luck to the Patriots on the rest of their season!
Beaufort WR Amare Patterson (He is going to be good y'all!) had 7 receptions for 165 yards and 2 TD'S in this game. Beaufort QB Samari Bonds had a good game running and throwing the football, except those 2 interceptions that he threw were costly. Hopefully he will learn from those mistakes and have a great Senior Season. I think this Beaufort Team can have a really special season this year. Will Codding looked really good on Defense in this game.
Next up for Beaufort is their first home game of the season this Friday Night against Greenwood. This is going to be a Special Game as Beaufort Head Football Coach Bryce Lybrand is from Greenwood and played for Greenwood. I can't wait!!!!
GO BEAUFORT EAGLES!!!!
