AAAA Playoff Projections (Bracket in First Post of Thread)

Post by Rebel-Fan-74 »

UPDATED AS OF 10/14 with PROJECTIONS of how the Region Standings will look when the season ends.

Couple of things to get out there:

1) I'm not a AAAA guy so I'm out of my element here. If you see something factually incorrect, for example if I have a team listed in the incorrect Region or something like that, let me know. If you see something of the PROJECTION that you do not agree with, then make your own projections!

2) I am projecting these standings and seedings at this point based on MaxPreps Rankings only. As we start having more games, and standings become clear, those MaxPreps Rankings will only be used for seedings.

3) I would not be upset if a AAAA fan did this instead of me....

And four Greenville County schools in 4A not forecast to make the playoffs. Somebody down on Camperdown Way need to wake up. I know they could care less, but the district administration should at least put some emphasis on football.

The up front work may be the hardest part, setting up the spreadsheet (the part that stops most people from doing it), however, once that sheet is set up, it is usually good for two seasons (the realignment happens every two years and schools move up, or down, or to a different Region).

Then maintaining the standings becomes the most difficult thing. Who got the win, who got the loss, each and every week! Keeping the Standings correct, especially the Region Games.

Then there is getting on the site and getting the MaxPreps ranking, plugging it in to the spreadsheet! <---a new issue this season.

Then and only then do you do the "projection" of who will win the remaining games... I have 5A schedules for every team and I use Doodles rankings and/or Massey rankings to project winners of the rest of the schedule. For 4A, I didn't expect to be doing 4A so I didn't load all of those schedules, so I use MaxPrep rankings to help me there.

And then you get to do the tiebreakers (and since each Region does their own thing, I just guess, sort them alphabetically, flip a coin, or use the magician's tool and pull a name out of the hat).

Once you get them in order in each Region, let the spreadsheet do the sorting work and then you have a bracket.

Are you sure you don't want the job?
