The Wolverines host Union County and in lieu of a complete breakdown, the synopsis of this one will be a game that is going to be UGLY. Woodruff will win by whatever they deem necessary but officially I will say...
Woodruff 55
Union Co. 7
Agreed on all accounts. I think the world of Coach Thompson. Truly terrific man. As a member of our chain crew for 23 years I always loved being on the sideline with him when we play Union County at home.Deputy wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 4:37 pmYou could have a complete breakdown and still beat Union by multiple scores. From what I hear that program has descended into a full blown mess on a lot of levels. Questionable hire at best. Union doesnt do what they need to do to support a decent football program anymore. They are just merely hoping that the next Roscoe Crosby will come along to save them. Hated to see that current attitude affect Brian Thompson. Good coach and a good man.
I firmly expect a running clock in the second half and I will be at Waffle House for my traditional postgame meal earlybigdog2003 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 6:33 pmI watched Union County play a half against Newberry and was shocked by how bad that program has gotten. I remember the 2002 game when Union came to Bulldog Stadium #1 in the state and Newberry was #3. There were so many people in the stadium. People were 10 deep on the hill around the end of the stadium, every seat was packed, people everywhere.
Bulldogs pulled off a 22-14 win that night. It was insane. The matchup this year was a bunch of people leaving at half time after watching a beat down. I think Union County had 40 yards of offense at the half and hadn’t crossed the 50.
Woodruff should get to rest their starters a lot in this one.
It would be a titanic match-up but we have to handle our own and get there first.
