It took until the end of October but we finally have a region game that has the chance to be competitive and the winner of this one will be the region champions.

Daniel comes in 7-1 with the lone loss to 5A JL Mann and Greer at 5-3 comes into this one on a 5 game win streak after dropping their first 3 to 5A schools Boiling Springs and Hillcrest, then to the top team in 3A BHP.

The last two matchups between these teams have been big wins by Daniel. I could be wrong but I believe this might be the first time we play as region opponents, usually it’s a mid-late November game in the playoffs when these teams clash, but with a region title on the line the stakes are still high for this game.

Ever since Greer’s state championship appearance, where they beat Daniel to go to Columbia, they just haven’t been the Yellow Jackets of old who were perennial contenders. This game Friday is a great opportunity for them to say they’re back. HOWEVER, I still believe my Lions are the team to beat in this one.

You absolutely hit the nail on the head, we've rebounded really well from the loss of our perceived best player, to a tough early season schedule where we just didn't play well. To finally beating those pesky Rebels.

I don't think this game will be close, but none the less I will be there supporting my Yellow Jackets. Daniel is just on another level, if we can keep it within 21-28 points I will consider that a good game.

I hope we can get back to being the perennial power of old, but sadly I do believe those days are long gone. Let's hope we can win a game or two in the playoffs and send these seniors off with some good memories.
