Abbeville vs Cross

Post by *Topcat* »

First let me say that I think it is totally ridiculous for the teams that have worked all year to get to this point, to have to play on a Thursday night in Orangeburg. So you have a short week to get ready for a State Champ game, somebody has totally dropped the ball on this situation, and, sadly, it is not surprising. It's been raining all week in upstate, hope my Panthers got some decent practice in, I like our chances regardless, but, it should not be a short week before a Title game. And why Orangeburg of all places? Anybody have any relevant answers > Short trip for Cross, not so for us. What happened to Benedict? Why not play at a big Columbia area high school? The biggest thing is having to play on a Thursday night. I feel sure they could do better than that. Go Panthers!

i loved when all games were at williams brice. 3A on friday night, then all other games on saturday. i'd watch everyone of them and loved it.
understand your frustrations and not sure why things keep getting moved around but probably all to do with availability and costs.

not going to matter in the end for abbeville, i don't see cross staying within 3 td's of them.

Topcat I agree with you completely

This whole 3 day thing is a total screw up on part of SCHSL

Fine for those on Saturday but middle of day on Thursday and Friday is ridiculous plus the Thursday and Friday Night games making it hard to get there from all schools fans that are not right around midlands.

One screw up in traffic and could be an hour delay for lot of fans

But again we back to lack of leadership at SCHSL , AGAIN

I am staying home and watching on tv.
Clinton at 2 pm and A-Town at 7:30
I think both Clinton and Abbeville both
win big.

I know it will be tough, but I hope that Cross will be able to pull out the upset win. Coach Wright from Cross is a really good coach. I love what he has done with that program. I work in Cross every now and then. They have a pretty nice football stadium for being a Class 1A School. I really hope that Cross will be able to pull out the win for the LowerState.

Congrats to the Panthers and coaches. I was not thrilled and still not about playing in 1A, but, the players and coaches did not cause this. It is not close to the level of 2A, and, that will likely not change. With the amount of students going to Dixie now and CF still holding on, looks to be permanent. One thing for sure, 1A is going to get really tired of us, we are not slowing down much in near future. I am sorry to say it, but, there is going to be a lot of boring football in our future unless the League does something different.
