As far as I know, the only change coming in Duncan is the new stadium is supposably "still on track for completion in time for the first schedule home game!" but of course, there is a long way to go so that could change!
Over here in Greer, I have not heard any rumors on Young retiring or anything like that.
I have heard that he was looking forward to next season and had no plans to retire any time soon.
Now, I can tell you from personal experience, once you start thinking about retirement, your mind can change in a microsecond. I was thinking I had about one more year before I started looking for a good date to retire and the next thing I knew, I was calling my staff together to tell them that I had decided that I was going on March 6th but to keep it quiet as I had not spoken to the company president yet. Two days after I made it official, one of my staff set his date as Feb 28th and another two set theirs as May 1st.

Re: State Wide Rumor Mill
Sounds like Northwestern is solid from the comment one of the coaches made earlier. Coach Wofford has done a great job seems like, so I would assume after a championship a few weeks back that he would be fine but I've seen crazier things in this state.
Byrnes seems a little crazy, the old guard is out but with a lack of wins, a new stadium crisis, and the community being unhappy I thought this season would be it for Shaw. Someone mentioned Shaw to Greenville??? Would that be a good fit?
Conway just hired their coach two years ago, but heard that the West Florence coach was interested last time but passed it up for a pay day. Record wise Conway has been down, so they may be looking for a coach after next season.
Dorman wouldn't shock me if they made a move. The Gray Collegiate coach was extremely successful and might do a good job at Dorman. A midlands coach posted a few weeks back mentioned that Dorman has an unstable staff with internal issue and can't keep guys, that's not a good sign in my opinion.
I heard last night that the Lexington OC is a lead candidate for the Gaffney job, and may not stay for the Lexington job due to personal conflict and administration issues. I hear he's pretty good and works well with players.
Anyone hearing any other news?

I've heard Shaw's name floated for Lexington job from more than one person. If no change is made in Duncan, that new stadium will be extra shiny with all the empty seats in it.StallGridironGang24 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 10:05 pmSounds like Northwestern is solid from the comment one of the coaches made earlier. I don't see #8 happening. I dont care what ties he has in the area.. Go from winless at Southside to a winless Aiken. No way that happens.
Re: State Wide Rumor Mill
I'm just glad Coach Knotts' name is not on there just yet. I suspect he will retire in the not too distant future- his son is a sophomore this year and I believe he will at least stay for a while longer. Since he has come to DF the Silver Foxes have gone 50-6 in the playoffs... He is a keeper.

I heard yesterday that Coach Littlejohn is the frontrunner for the Gaffney job!StallGridironGang24 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 10:05 pmSounds like Northwestern is solid from the comment one of the coaches made earlier. FINALLY SOMETHING TO POST ON!StallGridironGang24 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2024 11:40 pmWelp amigos, the mill is up and running to start the 2025 year. Can anyone confirm these rumors?
1. Stall coach (Freeman) to West Ashley? Would be a solid hire
2. Lexington OC (Kegal) to become HFC? Former HC stepped down for admin position
3. White Knoll coach (Pelham) to Gaffney? Very likely I'm hearing
4. JL Mann coach (Watson) to Greenville? Has some close connections to that community.
5. West Florence coach (Jenerette) to Cpnway on a 1 year deal then becomes the HC in 26'.
6. Northwestern coach (Wofford) to Oceanside to become HFC. Has a connection to the lowcountry
7. South Florence coach to Sumter. Have heard this one for two years, heard that Sumter coach is headed for retirement and can't win the big ones.
8. Southside coach (Ravenel) headed to Aiken to take over. Has roots in the area and would be a good fit.
9. Former Gray Collegiate FB coach (Holmes) could be headed to Dorman.
10. Nation Ford coach (McManus) headed to Spring Valley.
Anyone hearing similar news throughout the state?
1- Stall for Freeman makes sense and a good hire!!
2- Kegal could happen at Lexington, but HE WILL NOT BE GOING TO GAFFNEY!!
3- Pelham and South Florence HC were the finalists not sure if they named yet
4-Watson to Greenville makes sense..will see
5- Jennerate turned down Conway 2 years ago...Jennerate to LORIS!! my prediction. Loris will open he will get it.
6- Wofford leave...naw....dont see it
7- SF HC goes to Sumter if he does not get Gaffney. Jordan SF DC to get HC job at SF
8- Ravenal to Aiken makes sense
9- Dorman not making a change IMO...but i am not connected to that rumor at all!!
10- SV is a ???? who knows after what has happened last 3-4 years

1–Freeman would be a solid hirejustaname wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2025 9:28 amFINALLY SOMETHING TO POST ON!StallGridironGang24 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2024 11:40 pmWelp amigos, the mill is up and running to start the 2025 year. Can anyone confirm these rumors?

2–Lexington has fallen off. Not sure why they would promote from within
3–We will see what Gaffney does. The two mentioned would be solid hires, but there is going to be pressure in Gaffney to give it to Littlejohn.
4–If Gville is going after Watson I guess they didn’t enjoy this past year without a new recruiting class and whatever difference makers they had left bolting for the transfer portal in the summer.
5–Don’t know about the Conway situation
6–Wofford seems to be happy at NW. He has had other opportunities and didn’t make a move
7–Is Barnes getting out for sure?
8–Trading one bad situation for another
9–Don’t see Dorman making a change. Especially in light of him bringing in some solid veteran assistants as of late
10–Don’t have a clue what SV may do. Not sure what happened with that program as it suddenly just went in the tank over the last 3-4 years
