Region By Region, important games for the brackets

Post by Rebel-Fan-74 »

Reg 1 Westside Greenwood
A win by Westside and they are a win over TL Hanna in Week 11 from the Region Championship and a home playoff game, possibly two. A win by Greenwood and Hillcrest is back in the driver's seat due to Westside's unexplicable loss to Woodmont. Greenwood would need a win and a loss by Hillcrest in Week 10 or 11.... not likely, but think of all the craziness we've experienced this season already.

Reg 2 Byrnes Dorman
Roebuck will be the place to be in the upstate on Friday night. A Dorman win and they are the likely champions due to the three way tie being broken by points.... not points like TD's and FG's, but wins over teams. A Rebel win and the Cavs could be looking at a road trip in Week One of the playoffs and if I had to guess, that road trip could be to Fort Mill. A loss by the Rebels would still be a home game in round one (likely that Green Slime, I mean Green Wave) from Summerville. I have to admit, based on the last few weeks, I'd have to give the edge to Dorman due to home field, as most everything else looks fairly even.

Reg 3 Fort Mill Gaffney
A Fort Mill win and they are looking at the #2 bid from Region III and at least one home game in the playoffs... somewhere from the #6 to #8 seed. As mentioned above, they could be hosting the Dorman Cavs in Round One. Gaffney win could put them back in the hunt for the #2 bid from the Region and again, a slight possibility of a home game in the playoffs. Keep in mind, if they end up tied with York and Fort Mill, their points will not get them a tiebreaker win. The only head to head possibility would be if they end up tied with Fort Mill and they win on Friday to get the head to head.

Reg 4 Dutch Fork Westwood
A few days ago, I posted that this would be the game for this region, but no one would take Westwood and 14.5 points... Yeah, I saw the Dutch Fork-Spring Valley score, but I still don't think I want Westwood and 14.5 points. This is for all intents and purposes for the Region Championship. Dutch Fork with a win and a Fort Dorchester loss could still get the overall #1 seed or at least the #2 seed, which would still be all home games until Williams Brice...

Reg 5 White Knoll River Bluff
Yeah, we all saw this game being a BIG GAME back in August didn't we? The answer to the question.. Who are the last two teams to beat North Augusta? A White Knoll win and they are Region Champs... wow!

Reg 6 South Florence Socastee
Socastee may be the last hurdle for the Bruins getting the Home Field throughout the Playoffs. I don't think the cross town game can be overlooked, but I do feel that South Florence would be a huge favorite in Week Eleven regardless of the outcome of this week's games.

Reg 7 Cane Bay Wando
You can see that next week's Goose Creek -vs- Stratford is what it appeared it would be when we began way back in August... Region Title on the line. Now both teams have to take care of business this week: West Ashley Goose Creek and Stratford James Island, but if they take care of business, Week 11 will determine #1 and #2, and this game will likely decide the #3 bid.

Reg 8 Ashley Ridge Summerville
A Summerville win and Fort D is Region Champion while a win by Ashley Ridge sets up a winner take all game against Fort D in Week 11 and relegates Summerville to the #3 bid.

Great analysis. I can't wait to see this week's projections.

If so much wasn't on the line in Socastee I'm sure I'd be driving to Dorman this week.

I predict the GreenWAVE will be on a roll headed into the 1st round of the playoffs. We are healthier than we have been in quite some time and now have a backup QB in Coccoli that can be very effective. The Wave is on the rise......

I hope we can stay healthy for the next two wks at least, heard thru the grapevine that the field at Socastee is in deplorable condition... I was told that WF had 2 guys roll ankles in warm ups b/c of all the divots in the field.

Carolina Forest is away this week, they could always shift the game there.

Myrtle Beach and St. James both have home games.

Should be an interesting game...Never know which Ashley Ridge team will show up. I just hope for a good game from both teams.

It's kind of amazing how Gaffney with a win this week and a win the following week could be region champs and have a home playoff game this is crazy to me.
