This is an action that will, imho, have major repercussions. Remembering back in 2002 (I think...working from memory), NW and Marlboro Country were both banned from the playoffs due to fighting. There were 6 players from Marlboro County suspended and 1 from NW. Video evidence completely negated the argument that the SCHSL presented as their reason for upholding the playoff ban on NW, meaning NW was not allowed in the playoffs that year.
I AM NOT GOING TO GET INTO THE GC ISSUE AS THAT WAS NOT ABOUT FIGHTING.
This year, Camden and Dreher had a major fight and both teams were banned from the playoffs. Upon appeal, both were reinstated. I looked for the article that I saw last night, which I cannot find today, which stated the reason for the reversal was that the penalty was supposed to be against the individual and not against the team. That is 180 deg different from the ruling to keep NW out of the playoffs.
2009, Summerville and Stratford had a fight and neither team was banned from the playoffs.
Inconsistencies in decisions always make the next ruling always appear more "questionable".

I was told from multiple sources that MC and Conway had what I was told "a minor scuffle" after their game this yr and nothing was said, not even on the news around here.trojangrad78 wrote:This is an action that will, imho, have major repercussions. This is sad actually, this is teaching players that it's ok to fight, nothing will be done about...

Re: SCHSL reverses a ruling..........
Since you brought it up I'll tell you why you haven't heard anything. That's because there was nothing too it. First of all nothing happened during the game. Conway was loading the bus at the stadium to attend the end zone show. A former south florence bruin by the name of Tabari Hines ran his mouth at the conway players and there was a little pushing and shoving but the coaches stopped it quick. If it was in a game it would have been off setting penalties nothing more.
