Hey Mikey. I can tell you Fort D has a solid defense. I believe they have given up the fewest points in 4A this season. They have a Freshman QB, Dakereon Joyner, who took over mid season that many in the Fort D circles are saying could be the best that has ever played for the Patriots. Joyner is lightening fast and is more of a threat to run the ball than to pass IMO. When Summerville played The Fort earlier in the year we lost 17-12 with Datron James rushing for two TDs for the Patriots.

Thanks GBG...dang quick QB might spell trouble for us..we haven't faced a lot e'm this year...mostly passers here in the upstate...we will see if the projections hold up...

Hi Mikey.
I feel great about facing Gaffney in the first round, because we don't have to make the drive! Fort has the best D line you will have seen this year. There is one really strong corner, but the rest are in need of the pressure the dline provides to be effective. The only real passing team we played was Stratford, and we handled that pretty well. The loss to goose creek had a bit to do with the field conditions (creek handled it fine) and special teams turnovers, as well as not playing the fresh QB yet.
The offense is great when it is planned around the stud running back. They have been trying the last few weeks to improve the timing on deep routes, and the QB joyner has a great arm, just not a lot of polish yet. He also try's to do to much on his own, doesn't quite feel the game yet. Senior QB garrett is smart and a good runner, leader of the team. WRs are big, but not the best at routes and don't get a lot of chances because the running game is so good. The kickers are ok, no huge legs.
In short, running team with really good lines, especially dDline. Let me know if you need directions or places to eat.

Mikey, tell us about Gaffney.
Re: Fort D fans....
Thanks Bbbrass......Off the subject of the game...Didn't Robert Quinn play at Fort D.....?
Re: Fort D fans....
Young...only 6 seniors...QB is a Soph....who's gonna be great I believe....can throw on the run, he don't make a lot of bad descisions, but is put in some bad positions due to lack of creative play calling..Wr don't really help him out either....seen way to many just plain out drop this year....O line suspect....We took a major blow in week 7 when our already then 1000 yrd running back went down to a season ending injury...Offense's biggest problem is the OC......hate to say that on a public forum, but it's true...on Def.....the front is also the strength of our team....DB are small but quick......We just don't seem to have that typical Gaffney swagger of knocking the shit out of people..could it be because we don't tackle in practice anymore..Red Head wrote:Mikey, tell us about Gaffney.

For QBs, Paul Cianciolo played QB (backup) and pitched at penn st, and Ethan long is currently a backup QB at east carolina.
