I couldn't find any good pictures of the stadium since the renovation and scoreboard/jumbotron, but this is the video they play on the jumbotron as the players take the field " target="_blank sorta corny but it works well lol. Sorry you aren't gonna make it down to check it out, it would have been nice to host a team with as much history as Gaffney for a playoff game. Good luck to your guys the rest of the way out.

It's home Mule. You can have all them fancy Dormans and Reservation I'll keep Nixon. Atleast it looks that way until my middle son graduates and he will be a Freshman next year unless somebody just dumps a load of money off to us.

I've never even seen or been to The Original Reservation. I think I saw a picture of it at Harold's that night we made our way down your way thinking Gaffney was playing BS at home. My middle son played there last year when he was in the 7th grade and he said it was a really cool place to play he said it just needed a little up keep. That's what pisses me the hell off about the school districts just letting landmarks like this go to the shitter. I will never ever look at Chapman Panther Football the same because when they built the new school they just left Henry Smith Stadium to rot and rust. I played in the stadium from little league in the mid to late 80s to when I graduated in 97. That stadium as it stands today could host a 1st round playoff game next Friday night and it wouldn't miss a lick. It is still in great shape and will all the tradition it has. My dream game would be a Super Souped up Chapman team play Byrnes and pack that ole girl like we used to every Friday night back in the days when Woodruff, Chesnee, Greer, Blue Ridge, and Boiling Springs came to town. On a clear very cool fall night you could hear the game and band all the way in Campobello. I miss those days.

Mikey there are many hotels within 15 minutes of Fort D, most of which are located just off the interstate either at Ashley Phosphate and I-26 or at exit 199(I-26 and Hwy 17A) which is the Summerville exit. To get to Fort D's field you would take I-26 to the Ashley Phosphate road exit. From Ashley Phosphate to downtown Charleston is 15 miles(15 minutes with no traffic).
