We know we are going to have to earn a 2nd round playoff game. Sumter knocked off the Knights which is something we failed to do. We are healthy now and are really peaking at the right time. I like our chances at home...

Fort Mill is a team full of talented white boys. They play smart, disciplined and are coached extremely well. They will break out trick plays like double reverse passes and fake punts. I would love to see this game and wouldn't be surprised at all to see them upset Dorman. They will have their hands full with Dorman's receivers though.

John:

I heard Fort Mill likes to run a lot... what kind of offense do they run? How have they done against teams that can pass well?

They run the spread and rely on the run to set up the pass. They pound it up the middle and mix in an occasional reverse. They have a small/quick RB and a bigger bruiser RB. They ran it all over us all night, but we ran it all over them also. We moved the ball on the ground and through the air, but the biggest difference in the game was we threw 3 picks. They ran zone coverage mostly and were rarely out of position. The highest team IQ I've seen all year. I was really impressed with their discipline. They can't match up athletically with Dorman, but coaching and on-field smarts gives them a chance.

Dorman's size, strength, and depth should start showing a big difference probably about the middle of the 3rd period. I think Fort Mill just doesn't quite have the horses to stick with Dorman. Very well could be close early, but I see Dorman steadily taking control of this game more and more as it goes on.

Dorman better not be looking past Fort Mill in anticipation of Dutch Fork.

#6 Northwestern
#11 Wando
Northwestern doesn't go after another Division II trophy this year and faces a different group of teams in the playoffs, beginning with Wando. One of the smallest Division One teams versus the Largest Division One school..... Expect the Air Raid to be reeling after the game last night, I don't know if Northwestern forgot to show up or if Gaffney just totally outplayed them?

Northwestern just flat laid an egg. From the moment they took the field, they just weren't there. No disrespect at all to Gaffney!! We couldn't block or tackle or cover the Indian receivers. I don't know if they were overconfident based on what they had read, or what? One thing is for sure...we made Gaffney look like old old Oakland Raiders!!!

I know this is stating the obvious proverbial cliche, but maybe this loss was good for this team. I am hoping it was a major dose of reality and impressed upon them that they cannot win just by showing up.......a good lesson in life for a bunch of them.

As to Wando, I will defer to others to describe how they play. I will say that the key to stopping NW's offense is to overwhelm the offensive line with pressure on Hart in the backfield.

Against Gaffney, this is strictly my opinion, our offensive play selection seemed to be pass heavy. Was this because we didn't think we could run on Gaffney's 4 man front or trying to get Hart more passes for playing in the playoffs? Who knows? One thing is for sure, Hart is a gifted athlete, but he is not a stand in the pocket passer like Worley and Rudolph. We cannot win depending on his passing arm. This is NOT the Air Raid this year. Hart runs the Wildcat. Expect to see an offense much closer to the Air Raid next year.

As for our defense against Gaffney, those kids could not have stopped my 5' 3" 147 pound 54 year old body from gaining 100 + yards on the ground. Geeezzz. The kids put on a clinic on how NOT to use their feet to get into position to make a tackle and how NOT to use arms to wrap up someone.

All this about Gaffney being said to answer Reb74's question. As for the NW team that shows up against Wando????? It will be interesting to see Friday night! :D

The Greenwood Laurens game worries me a bit. Greenwood "should win" but usually when you play the exact same team two weeks in a row things go a lot differently. In 2011 Greenwood beat Easley 42-7 in the reg. season and only managed to beat them 17-0 in the playoffs. On the contrary in 2010, Greenwood beat laurens 27-6 in the reg. season and won 41-21 the next week in the playoffs so I don't know. Should be a good game to watch.
