Shoot to me home will always be our old place...
I've never even seen or been to The Original Reservation. I think I saw a picture of it at Harold's that night we made our way down your way thinking Gaffney was playing BS at home. My middle son played there last year when he was in the 7th grade and he said it was a really cool place to play he said it just needed a little up keep. That's what pisses me the hell off about the school districts just letting landmarks like this go to the shitter. I will never ever look at Chapman Panther Football the same because when they built the new school they just left Henry Smith Stadium to rot and rust. I played in the stadium from little league in the mid to late 80s to when I graduated in 97. That stadium as it stands today could host a 1st round playoff game next Friday night and it wouldn't miss a lick. It is still in great shape and will all the tradition it has. My dream game would be a Super Souped up Chapman team play Byrnes and pack that ole girl like we used to every Friday night back in the days when Woodruff, Chesnee, Greer, Blue Ridge, and Boiling Springs came to town. On a clear very cool fall night you could hear the game and band all the way in Campobello. I miss those days.
I really don't why they didn't renovate the old Reservation other than it was not at the new campus...I think it would have been pretty cool riding the buses in from the new place...parking was also a major issue,,,but hell, with the money they spent on the new one they could have bought enough property around the place to put up a parking lot i'm sure....In fact the apartment complex behind it was condemed shortly after it closed ...it was built in the 30's by the CCC under President Rosevelt..a good grant writer could have gotten federal money to help save it as a historic place..imo all it needed was a few more bathroom facility's....a few more concession stands, upgrades to the visitor's side and some modification to satisfy the Americans with disability act...The ADA is what killed it..a lady from Byrnes fell in 2004 and threatened to sue under the ADA because it wasn't up to code....So they had to do something and estimated it would cost the same to build a new one on Campus..... I know I sure miss it....don't get me wrong the new place is ok, but I hate that aluminum and it could'a been concrete and bigger for the same price if the school board hadn't drug their feet on building a new one..they could at least move the old totem pole to the new place....rant over...

The address is 8500 Patriot Blvd, North Charleston SC 29420. Here is a link to their website.

Closest hotels are off Ashley Phosphate. There is a brand new Hilton Double Tree, and a year old Hyatt. Tons of little places also. North Charleston is the number 1 retail location in the state, and right off Ashley Phos is Northwoods Mall and the big box stores of Rivers Ave. For better selection, go down to Tanger Outlets (10 minute drive). Downtown will take about 30 minutes with parking and traffic.

If coming Friday evening beware between 4:30 and 6:30 there will be massive traffic on Ashley Phosphate, Rivers, and the 26 interchange. There is a back way taking exit 203 or 205.

If someone tells me how to post a jpg or PDF I have maps I can share, or PM me and I will email anyone who wants them.

The old reservation was cool. It felt more like a gladiatorial coliseum than a football stadium. It would be cool if The varsity squad occasionally played a game there but I was told they removed the whole visitors section. I really miss John L Martin also. Smaller place than we have now but stadiums obey the laws of thermal dynamics. ;)
