I will say, I'm not the ole Chief O from PFT. I've gotten that question a lot, not realizing there was a Chief Osceola on PFT. I was over there for a while, didn't post much. I've posted more here over the past couple years, but still not much. Been working on building this database of Gaffney games that I have.racincowboy02 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 11:48 amSweet sounds like i should know who you are with the osceola name think i might know who you are
Then ole Tommy at the Chronicle put his little book out last year. It was gifted to me and I found a lot of discrepancies with his stuff. Went back and did more research after getting his book, then put it on the bookshelf never to read again because it just didn't do it for me. They had games played at home that three different newspapers (including his own) had as away games, and vice versa, and wrong scores, etc. so I gave up on reading his book, did a deep revamp of all my material (furlough and quarantine gave me plenty of time) and have put in well over 400/500 hours over the past 8 years to get, what I consider, to be the most complete set of scores, records, etc outside of what the school may have themselves.
One thing to note also, MY40 had Dan Jones winning his 94th game Friday night against Dorman (which Tommy's book has as well) and it's actually 93. C'Mon man! the last 11 years are easy to find! He'll get to 94 no doubt, probably this week, but c'mon man!
Anyway, I always tell people, if you have a question, don't hesitate to ask. I feel like I'm a wealth of knowledge (not trying to toot my own horn). But I do enjoy sharing said knowledge with those that are genuinely interested (though I reached out to ole Tommy when I heard the book was being published, just to try to assist with the project, and never heard back, so
