.... That said, I have been told that should they win tonight, both West Florence and James Island would be the 2 choices.

I cannot understand what formula would be used, but West Florence is pretty much a no brainer. But if anyone in their right mind believes that James Island is a better team than Hartsville, or Wilson, for that matter, I say that they are bonkers crazy.
I was hoping this wasn't true, but there it is on the SCHSL brackets. :( I'm wondering which James Island will enjoy less, the 5 hours they will spend on their bus or the 1.5 hours getting drug up and down the field by North Myrtle Beach.

Obviously, getting an *At-Large* playoff berth had nothing to do with the quality of the teams. I saw James Island in person this season. Not only are they not a playoff team, but they are just plain not very good. They barely beat one of the smallest schools in the state last night. North Myrtle Beach could hang a hundo on them if they choose. Greenville has a legitimate gripe. As do Hartsville and Wilson

Pengy, not sure what you think of the lower bracket in 4A, but the upper 4A bracket is somewhat weak imo. When you take away SP as an annual winner of the upper bracket most of those teams seem beatable. We will see for sure

AC Flora seems to be the real deal. Westside is a question mark, as is Greenwood. They both seem capable of winning on any given Friday, but they also seem capable of being beaten as well. South Pointe has the pedigree, but perhaps not the stallions. I see Flora coming through the Upper State bracket.

As for the Lower State bracket, Myrtle Beach vs. North Myrtle Beach would be my best guess. My Eagles have the ability and the talent, just not the experience in big games. Hopefully this year will be another step towards perennial contender for Beaufort High. I see this bracket as a mountain a little too high for the Eagles.

Just my thoughts after what I have seen, and what results have shown.
