I think DF is in good shape, with a challenging schedule this season with Hough, Spartanburg, Creekside and St Francis as non-region foes.

Defense is solid. Experienced and deep. No glaring weaknesses...Perry, Danley, Johnson, Camp, Buetow, Taylor etc..

QB looks to be promising. Deep at RB with a marquee starter. TE is always a position where DF has depth and talent. Should be the same this season. One returning starter at WR with some exciting young talent getting the starts. OL only return a couple starters but most have had significant playing time. Maybe not as big as in the past few seasons, but look to be more athletic.

Ready for another run at a state title.

I think the QB may be special. I think he has the tools and will have some targets. He has the potential to be a D1 QB. Should be fun to watch

Maybe we will see yall again with better execution on our part.

Region 3 5A

This maybe the most unpredictable region in the state of 5A. If I had to pick a favorite I of the belief that Brian Lane and Clover are probably going to win this region due to the factor they return a bunch of SR. players that have played a lot of Varsity Football. Don't know if it'll be a surprise but I'm expecting NaFo to compete for a top region seed with the QB that they have returning. Spring Valley is always a dangerous team coming from the Columbia area. Rock Hill is also out there and will compete.

These should prove to stand.

Region 1 Hillcrest, Hanna, Mauldin, Woodmont, JL Mann.
Region 4 Dutch Fork, Lexington, River Bluff, Chapin, White Knoll

To a previous post about Region 2:

No, Boiling Springs can't be competitive in that region.

We will see how it works out, but was a bit confused about the Dorman hire. Sometimes people fall upward.

And for Shaws sake, Byrnes better be very good. Lots of folks at Byrnes are getting tired of waiting on the Rebels return to elite status.

No excuses for the Rebs this year. The roster is as loaded as in being in many years, definitely the most talent since Shaw has come. The defense will be solid, oline is very good, may have the best backfield in state with plenty of weapons in offense. I think it’s Columbia or bust this year.

From what I saw at the SPRING GAME and what I know from last year, there are a lot of reasons to be excited for football this season. I saw a lot better defensive play than last year in the Spring Game and I hope it carries over to the regular season. I think that is the key to the season as I agree that the offense should be solid. The only question about the Running Backs position is can we give them all enough reps. If they all stay healthy, we should be able to run the ball with a fully rested RB the entire game.

As for the talk about Coach Shaw, I understand that folks always seem ready to fire the coach and move on to the next guy; however, I think about this a little differently. I think Coach Shaw has done a good job, but like most of us, there are a few things that maybe should have ended up with better results. As in last season's defense. But overall, I like him and the way he handles himself and represents James F. Byrnes.

But we all know, coaches are measured by the W's and championships and based strictly on that measuring stick; I can see how [from those fan's perspective] he may be on the HOT SEAT!

They can move the ball. Just need to find some defense. Tough region though...have to see how it goes for the Rebel Nation.

If others will post their version of the TOP TEN, I will compile the list and publish it in a thread.
