Woodruff vs MVP, 10/18/2024

Woodruff has played a tougher schedule than the other undefeated 3A teams, which is reflected in their MaxPreps RPI rank:
1 0.77123 Woodruff
2 0.74023 Mountain View Prep
3 0.72900 Marlboro County

On games this close on paper, I usually pick the home team.

But it appears that MVP plays their home games at Presbyterian College. PC is 30 minutes from Woodruff, 40 minutes from MVP. Woodruff has alumni, MVP does not. I'm going with Woodruff.

Not understanding why anyone is interested in this game. Two overrated teams with no resume - one milking the novelty of being new and recruiting “Spartanburg’s finest “ (yawn- Vikes and Cavs have the best) and one trying to evoke a 40 year old memory. Boring.
Neither of these teams are a threat to win the 3A title. MVP maybe as they mature like Gray and Oceanside- but not woodruff that ship sailed with Willie.

The winner gets home field throughout playoffs and the loser will more than likely have a 3rd round trip to BHP which will be the end of their season! So this game was huge ! For the record Legend was dead wrong! MVP was 2 scores better than Woodruff! Woodruff scored on a scoop and score and one late drive as MVP was like in a prevent defense! MVP like I said had way more talent and was the better team!

This went about as I expected. I didn’t like the matchup for Woodruff because MVP has a very good run defense, and Jaylen is gonna do what he does. Woodruff did well in the air, but those MVP skill players were too much to overcome. Good game.

This is not a post to be taking as a joke, but I know when die-hard fans really get depressed, they take it very hard, but I hope the Legend Guy is okay and the Woodruff fan base should be very proud of those young men! I think they played about as hard as they could!
