Definitely going to be the "Showplace Of The Lowcountry"! I can already hear the incessant whining from the likes of New Smelly Cat. All of the other Senior High Schools in this county, will always be our little, red-haired, step siblings. Rising up, only to inevitably get swatted back down, put in their place, and reminded that big brother will always be best.

I was thinking that instead of the Eagle Walk to the stadium on game night, what if they put a gate on the South end of the stadium perimeter, and had the Eagles ride a luxury bus from their locker room at the school, around the stadium, and made their run-out through that gate and rubbing the "Eagle" on the pedestal before coming through the South End Zone? Seems like a much grander entrance for the home team. The visitor's locker room is off the North End Zone already. How about using your position to make that suggestion? Might as well change things now while everything is going to be new............ :D :D :D :D :D

Thanks for the pictures. Looking forward to seeing the new digs. Now we just need some really fast guys to take advantage of a fast surface.
No gripes from me.....y’all can have that.

Football was meant for grass not artificial turf....JMO

There are pros and cons to a turf field. More injuries Are a fact but it doesn’t require water which can get expensive these days...thise are just a coupe of examples.

Smellycat dig was funny ...you poop sniffing non flying debate team captain sophomaniac Penquin!!!

Well congratulations on getting a new field. I do know that trying to keep a sports field in tip top shape in this climate is nearly impossible. All of the insects, the humidity, the invasive species of grasses and weeds. When the "new" turf grass was installed at Beaufort, the county had employed a full time agronomist to take care of them. With 6 Senior High schools now, and many Middle Schools, all having Football and soccer fields, imaging the annual expenses. I love the idea of the artificial turf fields. I would have thought that the School Board may have considered what some other places have done though, and made just one large complex for several schools to use. Maybe some Thursday night games, possibly even some Saturday night games. Beaufort was going to go to Savannah and play BC this season at their new Memorial Stadium. Many schools use that facility. My wife is from there and she went to Savannah High. All of their games were played at the old Memorial Stadium.

Anyhow, congrats on the new field. Maybe some of the local teams will now put more emphasis on speed. That is one thing that I have noticed as of late. The overall speed in the game has gone up a ton from my High School days. No more guys taking a play off. It is full blast on every play now.

hot as hell
Hey Slicker, that might be true but having artificial turf will be really nice. You won't have to worry about the field getting messed up when it rains.

Hey Penguin. I hope that you and Rhonda are doing well. Yes I heard that Beaufort's Field will be really, really nice when it is all finished. I can't wait to see it!!!! I do like your idea about the Eagles Entrance but the downfall to that is it would be close to what those hated Clemson Tigers do. . May River also does then before a game when they have the players ride around the stadium in the Bus to enter at the front gate. But I wouldn't mind a new way to enter for our Eagles Football Team.

Hey Newcat. How have you been? I used to hate Artificial Turf also but I see the many advantages to it now. It will be nice to have the field looking good all the time. Because after the regular season ends the Field usually is in bad shape and looks horrible. So now it will look great in the Playoffs. Newcat I did hear that all the Beaufort County High Schools have the option if they want a new Artificial Field or New Grass. I saw where Whale Branch is getting their field done but with New Grass. I guess they didn't want the artificial turf. So Bluffton is going with Artificial Turf next season?
