This game will be broadcast on wlbg radio. They have a website and the broadcast can go though there if you are out of range for the radio station. Beats sitting in the rain.

I'm dedicated to getting to Greenwood this year for a game. Still have to check the Cav's schedule.

if you have not been there before, just looking at the press box is worth the trip. Biggest and best one I have seen and I've been in Dorman's and Wofford's

Based on the situation and what I see with it being a covid year, a new coach; attempting to run a new offense that they haven't had much time to practice. My heart wants Greenwood, but my analytics say Laurens. They know what they're running and have a chip on their shoulder because the coach left on their best year. The energy is back and it feels great! But changing to a new offense from Pippin's 90 percent run spread will take some time for sure. We ran similar back in Cathcart's days with great success, so that may help. My heart says Greenwood and I'm pulling for my Eagles, just not sure there has been enough practice opportunities to get the offense completely ironed out. One thing I do know is they're going to have to energy. That may help. Thoughts?
With all Laurens had last year, dan pippin held them to a 7-7 game for 3 quarters with numerous missed opportunities to take control of the game. With everything we have coming back and Laurens losing some of their top talent. We would really have to help them out to lose this one. Just my 2 for what it's worth. We'll see.
How are you so sure they didn't reload?
Well to be completely blunt, because they are Laurens. According to SC football history the last time they had back to back seasons winning 9 games or more was the 95 and 96 seasons. http://www.scfootballhistory.com/wordpress/?page_id=822 Roughly 25 years ago. I believe that is also the last time they beat Greenwood in back to back years if you leave out the Pippin years as most gwood fans do lol. They just don't win consistently like that in football. I'm not telling you anything you don't already know. I also believe we just have better players than they do. Is what it is. You know we have some players that weren't on film last year because of injury. They are back this year. I don't necessarily disagree with your analytics. I just hope your wrong about it :) I just strongly believe if we lose, it will be because we helped them. Hopefully we can pull this game out and Liner can get his 1st win as the head ball coach in style.
I want Greenwood to win as much as anyone loyal to it. I'm just trying to look at things without my Greenwood glasses on. Things still need to be ironed out on offense. Plus you add in the rain with all of this new stuff. We'll see. Definitely want to be wrong on this one, but just looking at what's in front of me without being biased.

This is probably the most interesting matchup and most competitive game in the whole state this week.

The teams have completely opposite strengths. Laurens is super big and strong up front but is replacing skill guys. Greenwood has a poor offensive line just like it did last year but has some extremely talented skill guys. A weakness on the O line doesn't bode well if Greenwood is going to run the ball a ton, but Laurens may not have the offensive firepower to get past Gwd's defense, which is almost as good as last year's (it was very good last year, offense was just awful and kept defense on the field too much).

IMO, Greenwood will win because they'll be able to move the ball decently well on offense and the defense is legit. Laurens is having to make changes both in system and personnel because Martin's no longer around

Something that hasn't been mention is there are former Greenwood coaches from last year now coaching at Laurens so they know the Greenwood players tendencies as well as the Laurens coaches knowing the Laurens players. This should be a great first test for both teams. I do wish I wasn't reading all the excuses before the game has been played though. Another thing, leave Pippin out of the conversation he is gone. He is coaching successfully and happily somewhere else where he is appreciated. If this coach doesn't turn things around in AAAA then it is on him, a Greenwood product!!
