I am hearing they might promote the current OL coach on staff to Head Coach. He is also the interim. I dont think he even works at the school nor is he a certified teacher ;)
He’s not without qualification. Former Gamecock OL, corked as GA there and coached for several years at Newberry. Definitely knows ball.

Times are changing. They cannot find enough certified teachers period, and it will get worse

What do you want the new coach to teach?

Bingo! Younger teachers are not as interested in working 12-18 hour days to coach football and other sports.

That being said, a school like SP shouldn’t quite need to resort to non-certified head football coaches. Schools like Lewisville, Great Falls, Green Sea-Floyds may not have that luxury.

I find it odd that they have not posted the position? Do they already have their guy in house?
It seems that the administration at South Pointe is working under a different set of rules than everybody else.

Brian Lane would be a great fit for SP.

Would Porter leave the Greenville area though?

Floyd has a good thing going over in Chester? Would he be willing to take on the challenge of a South Pointe HC? Which does come with some lofty expectations locally!

I think York county could offer him a bit more money than Chester county(I think; no idea).

Or if whoever they are eyeing has what it takes to cultivate the talent.
Talent alone has never - never - won a state championship. Those teams had to be guided, coached, led, conditioned, disciplined, etc "RIGHT"! If it just took a bunch of talent; SP is no less than in it yearly! Let alone win it!
I like that they aren't rushing and panicking into a decision. Hopefully, it means we are getting someone worth the wait!
Choose to Lead or you should choose to "get out the way" of those who will lead!
