96 Gaffney team had Kentrell Jones at QB as well, and featured Dominique Stephenson at tailback. They ran an option offense.

The next year when Kentrell was a senior, they started chunking it and it was devastating. I'm not talking dink and dunk either, haymaker long bombs right on the money. It was a sight

No I wasn't but wanted to be so bad....i was laid up in Spartanburg regional with a serious colon problems....eventually they figured out I had colon cancer and my colon had collapsed ....had surgery and wore a colonospy bag for while....in other words they tore me a new asshole...then reversed it to where I was just a normal asshole..that was a bad year for Mikey....my little league team went undefeated that year but I wasn't able to see it and Gaffney lost to Spartanburg in the semi's...

Geez that sounds awful. Well glad you recovered and here 24 years later you can talk about it and share so there’s that. Wish we would start playing y’all again. We always felt that if we could compete or maybe beat Gaffney as our measuring stick then we would roll everyone in 3a . Turned out to be true . What did Gaffney get out of it they knew that they would face no tougher offensive line that year. Y’all just always had one or two more playmakers than us but that was known and expected going in . The atmosphere of those games though were special.
