I don't think you can count the DC - Coach Peeler out of the running. He was a finalist as well. I'm surprised Woolbright would really want to come to Clover. Regardless that his dad coached at Clover, he has it good at Lexington. Is his son not going to be a senior this coming up year???
Oh well....good luck to however gets the job !!!

Re: Clover's Next Head Coach
If you look at first posts that were made it was stated if Lexington Coach (Perry) wants job it is his and whoever posted was correct per my source who is pretty accurate on most things. In my opinion what a total waste of time for DC at Clover, Herron and Timmy Boyd who were finalist. Good old boy system at Clover still going strong. Just like the basketball hire and many more you may not be aware of. I know someone stated in earlier post Marty ran a solid program at Clover which I think Herron would agree since he was on his staff all 9 years, most of that as his DC. Then also stated Herron won (5 state championships, coached in back to back all American bowl games, been coaching over 30 years) because he had athletes. Well guys any team that’s great has good athletes that’s how sports works. The challenge is teaching them how to work together as a team, be selfless and trust your coaches to help form you into being the best of yourself. Watching Herron over the years he did that for many.
I wish the best to Perry but Clover will be a challenge in itself. I would imagine the athletes at Lexington are a little better unless that is changing and maybe why he wants to come to Clover because from what I have heard he has a cush job as a coach there. Whatever the reason best of luck. Should be interesting.
Just my 2 cents as a former Blue Eagle student

Typically, a DC of a 5A school needs HC experience but he is named the HC, just FYI. Not sure who you are getting your information from but you might want to get a different source as the 3 finalist for the Clover job were Herron, Woolbright, and the HC from Catawba Ridge. To my understanding as of last week, it was down to Herron and Woolbright. I have no idea why Tim Boyd wouldn’t be in mix being as he is very experience at all levels and he was a star at Clover, quite disturbing, if you ask me. I hope all this is announced soon and the administration makes the right choice!

I am guessing you have the inside scoop and how you know your info is right. The rumor mill is in overdrive no doubt! They know who their guy is so announce it! Best of luck to whoever.

I am pretty sure that my information is correct! Of course they know who the guy is! They are just waiting on the school boards approval, at this point! I checked the CSD website and they will be meeting on Monday so maybe they will approve the hire then, who knows! I do hope that when the new school opens in LKW, Tim Boyd gets a shot at that job as I think he would be a phenomenal hire!

Appears Woolbright is on the way.

seems that way as it is in the State paper as well as all over social media. will have his introduction presser at 3:00pm today.. Solid hire with somewhat of a homecoming since he graduated from Clover in 01 and his father was there for quite sometime.
