we start back with radiation tomorrow on my son, he needs 28 more before he gets a break, usually takes a hour down, 30 minutes radiation and a hour back 5 days a week. so far he has not been sick just tired afterwards, but only had 2 so far. thanks for yalls help.

I'm sure he's not the only one tired after all that brother. I wish you all strength for the battle! Imagine the love he feels knowing he can depend on y'all. That's a blessing within itself.

I read the sequel to Catch 22, Closing Time.

The sections with Yossarian were too surreal to make any sense to me but the character, Lew Rabinowitz was fighting cancer and that was the first time I realized how much misery nausea causes as a result of the radiation and chemo. I hope that your boy is comfortable enough and that they have good medications and treatments for any pain in discomfort as he fights this.

SLICK, you or the fundraiser mentioned Sean being turned down for disability. A friend of mine in Texas who is on disability had some advice for your family. I knew before my own wife applied for disability that she would be turned down the first time and need a lawyer. Chucks brother has a fused spine and got turned down also but got a lawyer and won it. Same thing then happened with my wife and everyone I've ever known that fought to receive it. I don't know if it's a bug or a feature of the system. On one hand it might filter out the people who just don't want to work. On the other hand it could be a feeding system for those making a living in litigation. THANKS VAMP, THEY ACTUALLY TURNED HIM DOWN FOR EXTRA PROTECTION UNDER HIS INSURANCE POLICY NOT DISABILITY, HE HAD A AVM BRAIN DISORDER BEFORE THIS BUT WAS NOT AFFECTING HIM AND USED THAT TO REJECT HIM BUYING THE EXTRA PROTECTION, INSURANCE DON'T WANT TO INSURE ANYONE THEY MAY HAVE TO PAY ON.LUCKILY THE HOSPITAL IS STILL PAYING HIS WAY WITH LEAVE FROM PEOPLE WITH EXTRA LEAVE, BUT I KNOW IN THE END IT WILL TAKE A LAWYER TO GET IT. CAVEAGLE, MY 56 YEARS GOING ALL OVER TO WATCH STAGS AND OTHER GAMES, KEPT MY SKILLS HONED FOR THIS DAY, THE BOY SO EASILY GAVE UP DRIVING, HAVING PROBLEMS WITH HIS RIGHT SIDE, IT WILL BE THE HATFIELDS AND MCCOYS THE DAY THEY TRY TO REMOVE MY HANDS FORM A STEERING WHEEL.

Something to try Slick...When my niece got cancer, my sister was able to get medicaid for her. Not her other kids, only her. Try talking to the social worker at the hospital. They will be up to date on any benefits he may be eligible for. With folks donating their extra leave, it sounds like he has some true friends. Slick, would you please pm me your mailing address?
