Who do you like in this one?

I haven't heard much about NW this scrimmage season! I know the former OC under Richardson is the HC and that they supposedly have a good defense.
I'm thinking the Stallions key returners will have more big game experience and pull this one out as the NW new starters adjust!

5thqtr, Coach Wofford was not the OC under Richardson but an important piece of the staff. Coach Wofford was the OC at Daniel last year. If the "powers that be" and the fan base give Coach Wofford some time I truly believe he is the man for the job! This season is a tough one for Northwestern but the players will grow and learn.

SP should win this one easily. Probably can name the score. Am sure there are going to be some growing pains under the new coach who has to rebuild the lost culture at NW. They will improve down the road, but I wouldn't look for great things out of them this year.

Underestimating Northwestern could be a big mistake. Northwestern defense is bigger,faster and more physical than the last few years. Offensive line bigger,running game better also. Sometimes a team needs coaches around them that has the team believing they can win, not just go out and compete. Will Northwestern win state this year more likely no, but the new coach is bringing the attitude of that's our goal. There are players on this,team that has taken a lot of lumps these past few years from some pretty good teams. I don't any of their non region teams got better than they were last year,sure they are pretty good but not better. Northwestern can compete now. South Pointe, Dutch Fork good but not last year good, yet. Botton line don't sleep on them Trojans there is a renewed sense of urgency and hunger on Highway 5.

NW will be fine by the playoffs and will give teams fits.

I'm calling it now: Jakari Caldwell will be among the next RH players to do big things for NW! Kid is solid; good hands; playmaker!

I was disappointed with the conditioning of the Stallions! It felt like an October game as far as the weather; yet several cramps occurred! Not good. Imagine had the heat had been on like it had been?
I like our size on the OL.
I like our secondary. Really the entire defense. Like NW I think we will take a few games this year to look how we will look come playoffs(assuming we make it). All I know is thankfully we are 1 up zero down at the moment.

That's was a good test for both teams. Northwestern showed they can compete,just have to keep working. South Pointe showed they still can be force in 4A. South Pointe defensive front turned up the pressure and disrupted Northwestern. All in all I think South Pointe can make a deep run and Northwestern will continue to get better.

Yeah, I agree! 1st as far as NW goes; I wish them nothing but luck the rest of the way except the match up with RH! Not that I think they will need it from what I saw from the Bearcats Friday. NW play calling was on point and the plays were there; but the timing under good pressure wasn't. This team could be like some of the Richardson teams that struggled early; but then couldn't be touched come playoffs! Jakari Caldwell is going to be a stud in this offense. The defense plays with a lot more thump and pop than they have the last couple seasons. Stiff competition in 5A may mean they would really have to elevate their game to compete with the Fort Dorchesters and Dutch Forks's and Gaffney's but they have the "potential" to give all of them fits! They couldn't beat them as they are today ( we couldn't either so not a slight) but they have the potential to be really good if they keep grinding!

I think we will have a solid season. I love the energy on the sideline from the coaches. Didn't see it last year to be honest(maybe they were board or their minds were on something else). But, we at least this season have coaches who want to be there and who "want to win like they have never won it all before"! Lots of work to do though; including incredibly apparently working on conditioning! Or at least being smart about the days leading up to a game and hydration and taking care of your body.
I thought early some of the "LOGISTICS" of having co-offensive coordinators showed. Sometimes it looked like we were trying to bleed the clock like an option team. The play clock was dangerously close several times. But, all things to be worked out in early season. The players, play makers, coaches and ingredients are there - it all just has to come together! Only way for that to happen is getting more games under our belts. We'll be fine to better than fine this season! Maybe more depending on how much everyone wants to grind for it! The players are in place for it to happen for sure.

Very impressed with NW and Coach Wofford's debut as HC. I was on NW sidelines ......the NW young men showed a total team effort. The official blew the call on the muffed punt in 2nd quarter at the 5 yard line....SP returner never had possession.......Should have been NW 1st and goal......
