Summer Workouts Postponed

I know Newberry County School District announced yesterday that all summer workouts for fall sports are postponed until further notice, has anybody else postponed?

Guys, I do so desperately hope I am wrong. But I have been telling you for a while that I dont think they play a down this year. Should they? Sure. Folks are going to catch this thing. The vast majority never really know they have it. Especially healthy folks. And most especially young folks. But we have been put in a state of panic from the moment this broke open in March and the media deemed that it was going to kill us all if we didn't stay in bed with the covers pulled over us until the great Dr Fauci came up with a foolproof vaccine. And administrators in education are the first ones to bow to extreme caution. I would hope that they would let the kids go back to school first. If that instant incubator doesn't start a wide breakout, then start football in October. But as testing becomes more and more easily obtained there will be more positive cases. At that point I can see them not even going back to school in August period.

I don't see school starting up in August either. I was a teacher for 7+ years, and they aren't going to take any risk. I think this is the perfect opportunity to change how we do education in this country, I don't see that happening, but that isn't really a topic for a football message board.

Coronavirus kills 2 to 3 times as many people each week in S.C. as auto accidents do..........this is a killer............i wish we had seen it as the killer it is from day 1...........we would have this behind us now had we done that............

Are folks going to die from this? Yes. But the cold truth is that the vast majority of the ones it takes were elderly, or had an underlying condition, where the next upper respiratory issue would take them no matter what. Thousands die of the flu every year. That is an accepted part of the life cycle as nobody questions it. And this has little to do with football. You can't just go cry on Fauci's shoulder and wait for the fairy vaccine to float out of the clouds. Put your big boy pants on. Can't live scared.
