Beaufort High-24--------Effingham County (GA)-3

Some poor tackling and a couple of nice plays by the Wubbels on the opening drive resulted in a 46 yard FG and a quick 3 to nothing Effingham lead. After Beaufort missed a long FG attempt midway through the first quarter, the game quickly devolved into a field position game until the very end of the 2nd quarter. Eagles QB Tyler Haley broke free for a 40 yard scrambe with 6 seconds remaining in the half, and Beaufort kicked a 44 yard FG to end the half with the score tied at 3.

The second half started much like the first, with Beaufort looking sloppy missing tackles and allowing the Wubbels to get all they way to our 21. A holding penalty, a QB sack, and a missed FG later, and the Eagles were off to the races. 2 long Haley TD passes, 1 in the 3rd quarter and another on the first play of the fourth, and the game was decided. The Beaufort reserves managed another TD midway through the 4th to make the final, 24-3 for the good guys.

We are home next week to face the BC Cadets from Savannah, one of the area's most notorious cheater programs. Recruiting from all over the state, the Cadets exist for solely athletic purposes. Hopefully we can make it Beaufort-3, Georgia -0.

Thanks so much BBurg_Wildcat 22!!!! I really hope that Beaufort can beat Benedictine next week. That should be one of the best games in the States of Georgia and South Carolina next week.

Eagles Win!!!! Eagles Win!!!! Eagles Win!!!! Beaufort improves to 2-0 on the Season. Wow-what a second half by My Eagles. Beaufort outscored Effingham County 21-0 in the 2nd half after a 3-3 tie at the Half. Joe Capraola had a nice 47 yard yard Fieldgoal at the end of the 1st half and he almost made a 50 yarder. Beaufort QB Tyler Haley had a nice 2nd half with 2 long TD passes to Zyrin Odom and Kacy Fields.

But My MVP of this game has to be Beaufort's Defense. The Eagles "D" held Effingham County to only 3 points and they have not allowed a TD in both games that the Eagles have played so far. . Beaufort is now 2-0 against The Georgia Schools and 1 BIG GAME Left Next Week against Benedictine out of Savannah. I can't wait!!!! It should be a great game to watch.
