Bracket Breakdown according to Doodles with 74's comments

Post by Rebel-Fan-74 »

Week in and week out, Doodles has given us the projections and almost 3 out of 4 games are picked correctly each week on average. For High School football, that is not a bad record. Looking at the 5A bracket, I wanted to see where I agree with him and where I think I might disagree with him.

CLASS 5-A UPPER BRACKET
WINNER RATE LOSER RATE SPREAD

T L HANNA 316.4 WHITE KNOLL 292.5 12 - I totally agree with this one, although it may be more like a 21 point margin.

SPARTANBURG 309.4 NATION FORD 277.3 16 - Spartanburg has played the toughest schedule and if you look only at the record, you might think they are not that good. 6-4 might not impress you, but look at the names behind that 4 and you will understand. Nation Ford has been playing better the past few weeks, but I don't think they will take out the Vikings.

DUTCH FORK 362.1 MAULDIN 263.2 50 - Mavs are clearly outmatched here and Doodles thinks it will be UGLY and I agree.

DORMAN 306.5 CLOVER 295.1 6 - The #3 seed Cav's, who would not make the playoffs if some folks were in charge, are favored over the #2 seeded Blue Eagles of Clover. I think I'm going to go with Doodles again. That Doodles fellow is smart!

GAFFNEY 307.6 ROCK HILL 250.4 29 - Another butt kicking! Rock Hill football has fallen off the map and that is really sad.

J L MANN 271.1 SPRING VALLEY 265.4 3 - Could this be the first time I don't agree with Mister Doodles? Could it be that I'm thinking of the Vikings of old and the Patriots of old? Well, he only has J L Mann by 3 points so it is not really a Huge Upset, but OK, I'll take the Vikings.

BLYTHEWOOD 305.1 BOILING SPRINGS 239.2 33 - My Region II biased heart says the Bulldogs could pull an upset here; but I'm just not that brave!

HILLCREST 316.3 JAMES F. BYRNES 311.8 2 - I'll take the Rebels to pull the upset here, oh wait, a #4 seed! They don't deserve to be in the playoffs! Well, maybe they don't, but I'm still taking the Rebels.

CLASS 5-A LOWER BRACKET
SUMTER 308.4 CHAPIN 252.2 28 - Gamecocks BIG! Unlike the Columbia Gamecocks who find a way to lose a game every year that they shouldn't lose (insert Missouri).

ASHLEY RIDGE 310.5 CANE BAY 299.3 6 - Cane Bay gets my vote in this one, so I'll have to disagree with Doodles this time.

SUMMERVILLE 310.8 CONWAY 262.1 25 - In a throw back game, go with the Wave.

LEXINGTON 304.6 WANDO 253.8 26 - Lexington looked really good heading into the match up with Dutch Fork, heading out of the match up, not so much. They bounce back in Round One of the playoffs according to Doodles and I agree, maybe not with the 26 points, but they win!

GOOSE CREEK 298.1 WEST ASHLEY 293.1 3 - Those Ashley's are everywhere!?!? I'll still go with the Gators and Mister Doodles on this one.

RIVER BLUFF 294.6 CAROLINA FOREST 279.8 8 - This one is a head scratcher for me and I will have to say that I've already disagreed with Doodles once on this side of the bracket.... make it twice, I'll take Carolina Forest!

FORT DORCHESTER 325.1 STRATFORD 258.5 33 - Fort sails to Columbia....

ST. JAMES 271.5 BERKELEY 259.3 7 - I want to go with the Stags, but just can't seem to talk myself into it.... St James.

I know what would make "most" people happy. Let's get the SCHSL to let every team from up north into the playoffs, and just hand pick a couple from down south to fill out the bracket. After all, football was invented up north!

Here is what would make me happy, not sure about "most" people....

I think my son and the bulldogs can pull it off! We are going to travel to Blythewood with nothing to lose.. a good defense and eager, young and hungry offense, a bunch of 10th and 11th graders that have faced adversity all season rolling behind coach Matt Reel, who is a true leader!!

The White Knoll HC was the defensive coordinator that figured out that Wing- T when he was at Dutch Fork...might be a little bit of a surprise if they get some offense...have to wait and see. Not your typical 2-8 or 3-9 #4 spot.
