There is some big local SCISA Football Coaching News today!!!! Beaufort Academy Head Football Coach Mark Clifford is retiring and longtime Thomas Heyward Coach Nic Shuford will be the New Coach at Beaufort Academy. Both Coaches have had great careers. Coach Clifford was the longtime Coach at Beaufort High School for 14 seasons and has been the head coach at Beaufort Academy for 5 years. Coach Shuford has been the head coach at Thomas Heyward Academy for 14 seasons including their Athletic Director. He led them to 4 State Titles. Coach Clifford took Beaufort High School to 1 State Title Appearance (lost to Clover 23-14) and won 1 State Title at Beaufort Academy.

Coach Clifford will be staying on at Beaufort Academy as a special advisor in Football and as an administrator. I think Beaufort Academy should be pretty good in Football for many more years. I wish them the best of Luck. By the Way...Thomas Heyward is My Wife's Alma-Mater. She attended school there from Kindergarten thru 12th Grade.
