The cloudiness is beginning clear...

Post by Rebel-Fan-74 »

The fog is lifting, some things are now more clear than last week...

Yet, some things are still in a complete fog.

1 Dutch Fork
16 Summerville

8 Hillcrest
9 Dorman
-----------------------------------------------
4 Goose Creek
13 Fort Mill

5 Sumter
12 White Knoll
==================================
2 Northwestern
15 Carolina Forest

7 Ashley Ridge
10 Boiling Springs
-------------------------------------------------
3 Fort Dorchester
14 Gaffney

6 Byrnes
11 Mauldin

1 Spartanburg
16 South Florence

8 Irmo
9 Nation Ford
-----------------------------------------------
4 York
13 Stratford

5 Conway
12 Blythewood
=================================
2 Lexington
15 Colleton County

7 Westwood
10 TL Hanna
------------------------------------------------
3 Westside
14 Greenwood

6 Cane Bay
11 Ridge View

This one looks like Westside's now since they would have to lose twice for Hillcrest to catch them due to Head To Head
1 Westside 7 0
1 Hillcrest 6 1
1 TL Hanna 4 3
1 Greenwood 4 3
1 Laurens 4 3
1 Easley 2 5
1 Woodmont 1 6
1 Greenville 0 7

This one has been described in details, but I think Boiling Springs winning out and Byrnes winning out is not the way it goes. However, should it happen, Byrnes is in the best place to get the #1 spot in the three way tie, and then Boiling Springs would get the #2 spot due to the head to head win over the Vikings. Now I know some folks will want to argue with that statement, so I'll just let the AAAA Handbook speak: Tie Breaking Procedure: In case the point system does not gain a solution, the following will be used to seed teams:

1. If two teams are tied in the point system and the two teams played, the head-to-head winner will get the top seed. If there is a three-way tie and one team beats the other two teams, the winner will get the top seed. Also, if there are more teams tied for a particular seed, the point system will be used to seed the team. Seeds will be filled one at a time and the process will start back at the top of the point system.

What that means,
#1- three way tie for first broken by points: I'm guessing Byrnes would have .5 or 1.0 more than the Vikings
#2- leaving a two way tie for second: broken by Head To Head (Bulldogs over Vikings)
#3- Vikings

However, I believe it ends this way based on what I've seen so far this season and instead of Byrnes in the overall #1 or #2 seed, I have them finishing second in Region II (losing H2H in the tied with the Vikings):
2 Spartanburg 6 1
2 Byrnes 6 1
2 Dorman 5 2
2 Boiling Springs 5 2
2 Mauldin 3 4
2 JL Mann 2 5
2 Wade Hampton 1 6
2 Riverside 0 7

Region III looks to be going to Northwestern and that is a team no one wants to see on the other side of the field right now.
3 Northwestern 6 0
3 York 4 2
3 Nation Ford 4 2
3 Gaffney 4 2
3 Fort Mill 2 4
3 Rock Hill 1 5
3 Clover 0 6

Three way tie is a strong possibility now: DF on points, then Ww on H2H
4 Dutch Fork 4 1
4 Westwood 4 1
4 Ridge View 4 1
4 Blythewood 2 3
4 Spring Valley 1 4
4 Lugoff-Elgin 0 5

Is Lexington back? Maybe, it seems that they are, at least in the Region IV and V world...
5 Lexington 5 0
5 Irmo 4 1
5 White Knoll 3 2
5 North Augusta 1 4
5 River Bluff 2 3
5 South Aiken 0 5

Sumter and Conway... HEADS?!?
6 Sumter 5 0
6 Conway 4 1
6 South Florence 3 2
6 Carolina Forest 2 3
6 West Florence 1 4
6 Socastee 0 5

Goose Creek seems to have got things under control...
7 Goose Creek 5 0
7 Cane Bay 4 1
7 Stratford 3 2
7 Wando 2 3
7 West Ashley 1 4
7 James Island 0 5

Ft Dorchester and Ashley Ridge marching along beating Region VII and VIII teams... so you really don't know how good they are. Fort D is good, maybe the best team you don't even know. Some of you don't even know their nickname....
8 Fort Dorchester 4 0
8 Ashley Ridge 3 1
8 Summerville 2 2
8 Colleton County 1 3
8 Bluffton 0 4

Is NW the last team in Div 1 in this bracket?

Tough path for Fort D: Gaffney, then likely Byrnes following by At NW. Ouch!

Yes, I'm pretty sure they were.... Wando winning a couple of games could move them to DII

Lord, forgive me... as Larry The Cable Guy would say!

At this rate, maybe it's better if Fort drops a game or two....lol. Winning isn't doing us any favors for seeding since we've dropped from the 2 to the 3.

would have to be wando or west Ashley changing things. I don't see rock hill or clover causing much noises.

The lower half of the D1 bracket is brutal.

A loss to Ashley Ridge and you exchange places pretty much....
