The very very short article in The State about the Conway vs Westwood game talks about the rushing attack of Westwood.

For those who know, or have seen them.....are they primarily a rushing team? Others have commented on the size of their offensive line. NW's defensive strength is their line.

They have split their last 4 games. In the ones they won, they threw 7 passes. In the ones they lost, they threw it 56 times.

Should be a great game I think if Westwood thinks they can run it on the NW defense they may be in for a long night. NW has a great D Line

Westwood is a rushing team. I voted for Westwood but really expect a NW victory. For some reason, these midlands are schools historically can't compete. Of course, the Rock Hill schools are always good. I sincerely hope Westwood can be the exception. One of my boys graduated from there.

When they're able to run it and run it well, they're practically unstoppable. But when the run game isn't necessarily working and they have to throw, it has mixed results. It's not that they don't have a decent QB and receivers, it's just the ground game is definitely that important.

Also, the oline is credited with being one of, if not the biggest, in the Midlands and the state.

The only rushing that will help Westwood against Northwestern, is if they rush the Quarterback, just ask Gaffney, they brought the blitz on the Northwestern Quarterback, and shut him down most of the first half of their game, but when Gaffneys Quarterback went down, their defense gave up, because Gaffney didn't have a decent back-up QB.Westwood the rushing, running offense will not work against Northwestern, you will loose badly.
