5A Region 4 Scenarios
Simple scenarios first

If Northwestern beats Rock Hill, Fort Mill beats Nation Ford
1. Northwestern 3-1 (Head to Head over Rock Hill)
2. Rock Hill 3-1
3. Fort Mill 2-2 (Head to Head over Nation Ford)
4. Nation Ford 2-2
5. Clover 0-4

If Rock Hill beats Northwestern, Nation Ford beats Fort Mill
1. Rock Hill 4-0
2. Nation Ford 3-1
3. Northwestern 2-2
4. Fort Mill 1-3
5. Boiling Springs 1-3

Complicated scenarios

If Northwestern beats Rock Hill, Nation Ford beats Fort Mill
(3-way tie at 3-1 for 1st), Region Pts tied, Points given up between tied teams….
Currently……
Rock Hill 14 + ? = ?
Northwestern 20 + ? = ?
Nation Ford 36 + 17 = 53

4. Fort Mill 1-3
5. Clover 0-4

If Rock Hill beats Northwestern, Fort Mill beats Nation Ford
1. Rock Hll 4-0
(3-way tie at 2-2 for 2nd) Region Pts tied, Points given up between tied teams….
Currently….
Nation Ford 17 + ? = ?
Fort Mill 37 + ? = ?
Northwestern 20 + 20 = 40

5. Clover 0-4

**if either of the complicated scenarios end up tied, next is Points allowed in all Region games.
Currently…
Rock Hill 43
Northwestern 58
Nation Ford 80
Fort Mill 88

Currently……
Rock Hill 14 + ? = ?
Northwestern 20 + ? = ?

4. Fort Mill 1-3
5. Clover 0-4

Under this scenario.....
For Rock Hill to win Region, the Bearcats have to lose by no more than 6 pts. while giving up 39 or less.
For Northwestern to win Region, the Trojans must win by 7 or more pts. while giving up 32 or less.
For Nation Ford to win Region, NW must beat RH and RH has to score 40 points or more.

2nd place would be determined by the Head to Head between the 2 remaining teams.

For Fort Mill to finish 2nd in Region, the Yellow Jackets must win by 20 pts or more while scoring at least 24 pts.
For Northwestern to finish 2nd in Region, FM must beat NF and NF has to score at least 3 while FM must score at least 23 points or more.

3rd place would be determined by the Head to Head between the 2 remaining teams.

Yep. Losing to Nation Ford threw quite a monkey wrench into things

Bottom line is still win the game. The defense's objective is always a shutout. The offense's objective is to score on every possession until the score is such that the final outcome is decided.

The kids only want to win.

Does the AD and/or the coaching staff know about all these scenarios??? Does it matter???

For Rock Hill, simply win and the region championship is outright theirs.

For Northwestern, like I said earlier, just win and let the chips fall where they may. They are guaranteed a first round playoff game somewhere.

It has all the makings of a very exciting game and one I am looking forward to watching!!

WOW, that is a complicated one... so complicated that Boiling Springs moves to Region 4 and still doesn't make the playoffs!
