Based on what exactly? Byrnes and Dorman has played better teams to this point and FD has played nobody... DF still hasn’t lost a game so they are exactly where they should be.3timestatechamp wrote:Fort should at least be 2nd. But it’s sometimes nice to be the under dog and not get any respect. Re: Statewide Broadcasters' Top Ten: Week 5
THIS. Dutch Fork is defending champs at the 5A level, so until they lose, they should be #1. To SilverFox's point, not sufre Fort D has played anyone of note, so far. Also, to 3timestatechamp's point, I am not sure anyone is saying Fort Dorchester is "under the radar". They are listed as a top 4 team and looks like they even got a first place vote. So to say they "don't have respect" is laughable. Considering the schedule they have played, it looks like they are potentially getting more respect than they have "earned" so far this season.TheSilverFox wrote:Based on what exactly? Look, I am not here to argue Dutch Fork's legitimacy as #1 in the state, because I don't believe they need my argument (or anyone's for that matter). There body of work stands for itself. To say that Fort Dorchester is a better team at this point is merely using your bias as a fan of the team. Nothing Fort Dorchester has done, so far, has proven they are better than Dutch Fork. Could they compete with Dutch Fork, based on what they have done so far this season, I think so, yes. But to argue that Fort Dorchester should be #1 (based on this season) and not the three time DEFENDING 5A State Champion is, without a doubt, a very biased opinion.Fortfor5 wrote:Your not defending champs you are the champs from last year .it cant be taken away not defending anything yall earned it its yours.your number one because you are a very good team.FootballFan4343 wrote:THIS. Never said dutch fork wasnt number 1. They earned it.wasnt arguing that.i think we a are better than 4 th.which i think is a reasonable argument.FootballFan4343 wrote:Look, I am not here to argue Dutch Fork's legitimacy as #1 in the state, because I don't believe they need my argument (or anyone's for that matter). Based on your comment about Mallard Creek, its easy to believe you were questioning Dutch Fork, since Dutch Fork is the only one in the top 5 who have played them. But, I'll be your "Huckleberry" and play along in regards to Byrnes and Dorman.Fortfor5 wrote:Never said dutch fork wasnt number 1. First off, its a poll man. With what looks like 16 voters. My guess is that one person putting Fort Dorchester 8th could produce a significant change. My guess is the top 4-5 are close, and then there's "the rest" as is the case with pretty much every poll.
But, to your point, I would have Byrnes and Dorman ahead of Fort Dorchester based on the following. I would argue their schedules have been more difficult than Fort Dorchesters', plus Byrnes and Dorman would get the "credit" in pre-season polls due to how they finished last year. Both of them advanced further in the playoffs, so if I had a poll, they would start "above" Fort Dorchester.
On another note. Who is "punishing you"? Is Fort Dorchester's weak regular season schedule force them to start every playoff game down 10 points? Are they forced to play with only 10 players on the field? Who exactly is doing the "punishing"?

We het punished for the inept coaching at schools such as wando and such and thier refusals to do much about it like wando for example blame another school for decades of failure. Nepotism and the friends and family plan have been the downfall of many schools here. Then we have stall who begged to be in 5 a so they dont pay for travel and have no buisness being in 5a thats on the schl.they are in our region so we cant drop them.to improve our schedules.as for last year im not a believer that it has much to do with this year at all.its a pole so it doesnt mean all that anyway.i felt compelled to state my case though.

Re: Statewide Broadcasters' Top Ten: Week 5
I will ask again, who is doing the "punishing"? I have heard all of the reasons for the so-called "punishing" but you haven't shared who is punishing and what form the punishment is happening. Are you guys forced to play playoff games with only 10 players? When you get to the playoffs do they give the other team 7 points to start the game? I am just not seeing how you are "punished" for the weak schedule you all play.
