But they would have to be the Region Champ to be seeded higher than Blufton if they are Region Champs.....

If Bluffton has enough depth and can keep the energy going for all 4 quarters against the bigger schools then I think they might be the one. I don't know enough about the point system but what's the likely hood that it will come down to the last game of the year between Bluffton and Summerville? Are the schedules a trade off? Likelier chance of losing a game in exchange for better point potential for Summerville?
We played and beat Bluffton last year.they lost thier sr qb and reciever that kept them in the game.we lost the fastest guy in the state at rb.but return everyone else.we should be able to beat them.

I see what you're sayin. Yeah it's hard for me to decide. Last year was a pretty good trial run for Bluffton in the big pool. I think they will be better this year. But I think Summerville will be much improved also. Summerville's tougher schedule should help also. The quicker Bluffton gets in and starts taking their lumps with better teams the better they will do late in the season. I know confidence is a big deal when it comes to getting W's but confidence is not something Bluffton lacks.

I'm coming down to see this game and I just hope it's a slobber-knocker. Of course I'm assuming it'll just come down to these two teams. Perhaps the region champ will have already been decided.

I am really liking Summerville's chances this year in Region VIII. I know there is alot of football between now and crowning the region champ, but my guess is it will come down to the Summerville at Bluffton game at the end of the year to determine the champ. Week 3 will tell me how we measure up when we play the Gators. We have the Stags this week who gave Stratford a game in week 1 by picking off Park 3 times. Let's see how The Wave handle the Stags this Friday...I really do not believe Berkeley will be able to move the ball effectively against our D which looked outstanding in week 1 against Cane Bay. Cane Bay earned their first 1st down in the 3rd quarter and only had 90 yards of offense most of which came in the 4th quarter against backups.

Well, so far it is all I have to go on. I like the size we have on the DL and OL. We have some speedy RBs. We have some nice looking receivers and a sohmore QB who had a pretty good game for week 1. Cane Bay was a team that beat us last year so yes, this was a good win and something to build on. Anyway, you know as well as I do, Slick is not exactly a Summerville fan. We will really know what we have after week three when we play GC. We should easily handle the hapless bambis this Friday setting up the 2-0 Gators visiting the 2-0 Wave.

GBG, the sophomore QB you guys have is the freshman from last year, right? I remember talking with you guys about him. Last year there were some feelings that he might not have been the best QB for the job but he seemed to come along towards the end of the season. I guess the Summerville fans are on board at this point which is a good thing.

As far as GC, is there a feeling you guys could trip them up this year or are you looking to just hang with them and give them a good game? These two teams are not that far removed from that slugfest from a few years ago. Do you see another contest like that with GC this year or maybe next? And is there a copy of that game anywhere?

It seems like a lot of low country teams are better this year than last and that the overall quality is on the rise.

Hey DeCav! Yes, Bridges is the same QB we had last year. He is now a sophmore. We did have a little bit of a QB controversy last year but I believe in the end, the correct decision was made. As far as GC goes, the goal is to always win that game and over the last couple of years we have certainly been outmanned. However, I believe we have much more of a fighting chance this year. I look for the game to be much closer than last year in which we were blown out in the 2nd half simply due to their size just wearing us down. This year however we have a junior and senior ladden team in better condition and a group of seniors who really want to end the slide against the Gators. I do not have access to a copy of the 3OT game you mention; however, I bet the Gator fans probably do. I would check with JCGator or Goop.

I on the other hand believe 7 should be our qb.hes very mobile one of the fastest on the team.i believe we could use him in a misdirection offense and make some noise.our current qb ain't. Bad. But I'm sold on 7.some believe the current qb is the one some believe 7 is the one.7 never got the chance.last night our starting qb was cramping we were up big.they coulda moved him over to qb and didn't.i believe they didnt because if he showed out they would have a hard time convincing everyone the current qb was the right choice.easier to convince if he never gets the chance to learn the o and get a shot.

I finally made it over to this side ;)

I hate to be "that guy" to complain...but not even including Fort Dorchester in the poll? I mean...I know Fort hasn't won the region in over a decade, but if Colleton County is included (and received a vote!) I don't see why the Patriots aren't included :o
