Congrats Rock Hill And Many Thanks For a Great Game.

Wow Bearcats. What can I say??? I know every fan and player hates the term "moral victory" but I just have to say that Rock Hill came ready to play and more importantly never gave up. Most impressive thing was that the coaches kept noodling and did not give up on trying to find a way to win tonight's game. Bearcats fans should be about as pleased and as happy as they could be without actually getting the "W" tonight. Not many fans traveled but the few who did brought the noise and the spirit especially when momentum started to swing their way.

The rest of the Rock Hill fans missed one heck of a nail-biter with the atmosphere in the final few minutes of an old region 2-4a game between the two teams. Rock Hill got to within 3 points and got the ball back and was driving with less than a minute to play in the game when Dorman's defense bowed up and they forced a turnover on downs.

At this point with two games behind us, without trying to sound too negative, Dorman is a solid middle of the pack team. I know, we expect to compete at the highest level every year and want nothing less than to be a scary threat to any team in the state but we have a ways to go before we can hang with a Northwestern or Byrnes or Goose Creek.

Defense looked pretty good most of the night. Offense on the other hand need their timing chain adjusted. Our RB had butterfingers tonight and dropped some balls. You know the story there. That's a deal-breaker against more seasoned and ready opponents. Had trouble breaking any long ones on the ground and the OL will have to improve before we can begin to dominate with our running game. Worse example was when the defense got a stop near the goal line by a successful tip drill for an int. On the very next play the offense earns a safety cause we can't punch the ball out of the back field. At that point the score had been 26-14. The safety put the Bcats within 10 and gave them the ball back. They score another touch down to get within 3 and was able to get the ball back once again. Rock Hill was able to move the ball converting on at least one 4th down but they came up short in a very close game.

Good news for RH was that they did wind up scoring 16 unanswered points to finish the game.

QB situation: 16 is your man. Momentum totally swung once he entered. Was unstoppable at one point. Good defensive schemes from Dorman proved to have the answer for him but then later in the 2nd half he once again began to have success. 16 seems to be a capable dual threat. #3 looked good and was very elusive in the back field but a smaller stature and balls that just didn't have a touch on them proved to be enough of a reason for a change. He was throwing a lot of throws right to the receivers but the ball would just bounce off them and out of their hands.

#16 just had the right stuff. More of a touch pass from him. Receivers were able to catch the balls more easily. Expect to see #16 start from now on.

Would have been interesting to see the same game except with 16 in the whole time. Dorman's D shut down Rock Hill after their opening drive touchdown. They didn't score again the whole first half. With #16 in for the whole game, is Rock Hill maybe a better team than Dorman at this point? Who knows.

I know it's cliche but Dorman still has work to do. Grayland Fowler managed the game and did what he had to do to get the win. Height could be an issue and also the OL needs to give him more time. Rock Hill was in pursuit most of the night.

Several ugly moments for Dorman tonight. But we'll improve and be ready for Greenwood next week. Only good news for both teams is that the other suffered some frustration tonight. Might be a very equal matchup next week.

Congrats to the Rock Hill Bearcats and thanks for giving us an excellent game and something really fun to watch. Thought at one moment Rock Hill just had too much momentum and would snatch victory from us but Dorman got away tonight with the win. Congrats to the Cavaliers on an entertaining game which finally got the fans to their feet in the 4th quarter.

Looking forward to our trip to D3 Stadium next week. Tigers haven't played there since '94 playoffs (earned a 1st round win against Northwestern). Thanks DeCav for the recap on the Dorman/Rock Hill game.

No prob! My policy at this point is to double post on PFT and SCPrep on topics that I compose.

Is Conway playing Rock Hill next Friday?

Good luck to Conway. Rock Hill seems to be improved from last year. This game should give Conway fans a real good idea where your team is.

That's what I am hoping for DeCav....the Tigers are young but seem to be responding to the coaches. The D played well against a ranked North Carolina team Saturday night in Myrtle Beach.....hope to see them improve again this week! All I want is to see them improve each week, and see where it takes us.

Hey man, same here! Dorman needs to get better before Friday. I will feel much better being 3-0 after Friday. If the Cavs play at the same level or worse then we'll pick up our first loss. Good luck to Conway!

I drove by Conway High on the way back from the beach this summer. Can't say I'd ever noticed it before I joined the forums but it definitely caught my eye this year. Lots to learn and experience getting to know other fans from around the state.
