Let me clarify, I posted that on this website about a month ago when the re-alignment talk first began. I made reference to the NCAA doing that.Onion Rings wrote:lol Penguin, this idea has been talked about since the days of the big 16, and yes it is the way to go, but I doubt the high school league will ever do it

Re: The best options for Re-Alignment
All is cool. I am happy to see that proposal being considered by some others. Certainly not my idea, but one that I have chosen to adopt as the best option. My original post was intended to show the hypocrisy of some people. When 74 puts it out, it is genius, but when I did, it was everything but. 74 is a great guy and has great ideas, some of which I agree with, some that I don't. But he and I haven't devolved into the ignorant hatred of some others. We have known each other for over a decade. Some of these other guys here wouldn't know me if they were standing next to me. Some, I wouldn't allow to get that close.Onion Rings wrote:noted, I remember. If everyone here would talk football in a courteous way, this site could be even better. Older guys like 74, Slicker, and myself, have been around HS football for more than 50 years. Everyone may not agree with all that we say, but what we do say, we say from opinions based upon experiences. Anyhow, thanks for your understanding about the post and be assured, I do not have any problems with you even if I don't agree with you. Some here could learn how to agree to disagree without resorting to hatred and insults.

Re: The best options for Re-Alignment
Amen couldn't agree more 74! I have been saying for years Gaffney is in a league all their own. The elephant in the room is what do we do with the less than stellar lower state teams? Here is my idea which is sure to ruffle some feathers and for those that know me yall know that's not my intent. Anyway enough rambling. I think we should dissect the state north to south right above Columbia from north to south. Kinda like the mason/dixon line but in this case we will call it the Champions/bracket fillers. Of course the Champions would be east of the line. May have to make a few deviations to include teams like Abbeville to ensure they are on the winners side of the line. Just my 2 cents worth. May also need a board of governors to review teams such as Spartanburg.

Doing good 74, still at the old powerplant. Pretty sure Kirby gave that game to Will to try and save his job....that's all I got, lol. UGA sends him around the league to destroy programs, first Florida and now USC.

Re: The best options for Re-Alignment
One of the best posts ever. I’m pretty sure we would not se eye to eye on a lot of things Mr. Penguin, but I respect your football fandom and knowledge and we can all speak the lanuguage of football here and get along great and have a great time!Penguin wrote:All is cool. Re: The best options for Re-Alignment
As he said, not an original idea, but I was just making the statement that I, too, have come to see that this is probably the best option. I still like the idea of a point system to make all games, or at least 9 of 11 count. Every team should have to play a schedule that is "as equal as practically possible!" Who knows how that is defined, but as a minimum, if one school has to play 7 Region games and some play only 4, how is that "equal"?Penguin wrote: All is cool. I agree 100% here. I give Slicker a hard time, but when it comes down to it, you have to respect his commitment to the Stags. He supports his team and loves high school football. Some of the best friends I've met through the board are Gaffney fans and we all know how much the Indians and Rebels love each other. Penguin and I agree on a few things, but I bet we disagree on more than we agree; but, he still gets my respect.Penguin wrote: 74 is a great guy and has great ideas, some of which I agree with, some that I don't.
