The numbers are posted on the South Carolina Dept. of Education web page. You can pull it up and subtract the 12th grade from the total to get the figure the SCHSL will use for the realignment. I have gone thru and done this. I have South Florence at number 44. Send me your email address to sc7777@aol.com and I will send you what I come up with. Of course, there will be some adjustments made by the SCHSL.

The Dept of Education numbers are just the starting point. The HSL always makes adjustments to account for new schools that will be opening and to allocate students at some charter/special schools that don't have athletic programs. (Spring Hill, Mayo, Charleston School of Arts,....)sc7777(godfather) wrote:The numbers are posted on the South Carolina Dept. of Education web page. If SF doesn’t get any students added it looks like they will be in 4A.

Our numbers shouldn't change but others may move up.Tigerific wrote:If SF doesn’t get any students added it looks like they will be in 4A.
Students from Spring Hill HS in Lex/Rich5 usually get allocated back to DF, Irmo and Chapin.
In Darlington, Mayo students get allocated to Darlington, Hartsville and Lamar.
In Charleston, the school for the arts (and maybe others) allocate to the 9 or 10 schools in the district that have athletic programs.
With all those adjustments, if you are near the edge you just don't know which side of the fence you'll end up on.
I agree, from what I've heard so far, it does look like we'll end up in 4A. The interesting question for drawing regions is the 4A/5A split in Horry/Georgetown counties. We could end up in a Flo/MB region, not with our closest 4A neighbors in Darlington & Marlboro county. It all depends on how many 4A schools end up in the NE corner of the state.

Conway gets a few from the Academy of arts and technology. The others schools get some as well. Depends on where they live.

The $1 million dollar question......
Why do we need the SCHSL?
Don't try to say "to enforce rules" either....![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

Because schools just play under their system and do nothing about it. It's easier for them to just go along with what the HSL does than to change stuff.HiTechRedNeck wrote:The $1 million dollar question......
