North Augusta High School Tonight introduce new football coach Jim Bob Bryant. Bryant was most recently the head football coach at North Paulding High School, in Dallas, Georgia, in Atlanta's northwestern suburbs. He spent two seasons there.
Among major highlights in Bryant's career so far was a nine-year stretch, starting in 2008, at Havelock High, near New Bern, in coastal North Carolina. During his tenure, the Rams played for four AAA state titles and won three of them (2011-13), and Bryant was also chosen as the state's Associated Press "Coach of the Year" in both 2011 and 2013. His 2019 squad at North Paulding went 7-5, and Bryant's all-time record as a head coach is now 180-50.

I just hope he will stand by what he says especially concerning parents. I always want to see the best eleven on the field at all times. Playing time should be earned. And parents should stay off the field and let him coach. Parents have always been a problem at NA and there are plenty involved in our school now who will try to get their way.

Wonder how he responds when the principal becomes a control freak?
Wonder what happens if some of the donors who are helping sweeten the salary become disenchanted?

Again, were there no good South Carolina coaches who applied for the job?

Why does this matter so much to you?IFollowHSFootball wrote:Again, were there no good South Carolina coaches who applied for the job?
This coach's overall record is 180-51. A 78% career winning percentage is great.
Not sure many candidates that applied for this job even come close to that.

Looks like he's definitely accomplished some stuff to me. A few championships etc.

Not the best instate candidate, the best candidate with ties to the program, the best candidate with this or that, just the best candidate.

I was told that the Saluda coach applied and would have been a good fit if he did apply. Guess he didn’t have enough State Championships. It really didn’t surprise me though that this coach was hired with the fact that the previous coach was hired from NC and there were ties or relationships to this coach.IFollowHSFootball wrote:Again, were there no good South Carolina coaches who applied for the job?
In reference to how much the booster club sweetening the pot I believe that is illegal. I know some of that goes on but they better not get caught if they are doing it! Major sanctions from the SCHSL! This isn’t college football.
